DD16 and I will be in Orlando for a soccer showcase Dec 27-30. After much thought, we decided to go early and do Disney instead of Universal on December 26. We have been to Disney before, so less pressure than Universal where we have not been. I know this is one of the busiest days of the year, so my question is would it be worth it to add park hoppers for that one day or will it be too hard to hop to other parks due to the crowds (and possible closure to capacity)?

It depends.. are you staying offsite or onsite? Those staying on-site are at an advantage when it comes to park closures.

The nice thing about park hoppers is that if Magic Kingdom is too packed, you could head to DHS or EPCOT or AK. Also, it gives you a solid opportunity to see one or two parks. You could head to MK in the morning and go to EPCOT or DHS at night.

We did this last year, but we didn't try to get into the MK at the end of the day - we were in before 8 AM and did as many rides asteroid through lunch, then went to BoG, then took the monorail to Epcot for the afternoon where we used our FP+ Reservations. I'm not sure it's the ideal day to try for an all-4-in-one-day project but if your goal isn't to try and get into MK between 11 and 7ish - unless you have an MK dining reso during those times, it should be do-able.

Thank you PlutoTheDog89. I did download your book, very informative stuff! At this time, I am not planning to stay onsite, but might consider it for one night.

Heidi8, I was thinking we would go to MK in the morning, head to DHS in the afternoon and try and ride a few things (if possible with FP+ if there are still available times), then head back to MK in the evening. Trying to do as much as we can within reason, considering the crowds. There will only be two of us, and we don't mess around! DD will have the whole next day to recover before she has any games!
