Park day on MNSSH night without tickets to the party

I have plans to go to MK the last week of August when they are having the Halloween party a couple of the nights. Touring plans rates MK a crowd level of "1" one of those days so I'm thinking of going that day even though the hours then are only 8:00-6:00 (extra magic hours from 8-9).

My question is how it works at the end of the regular park hours if you don't have tickets to the Halloween party. Do you need to be out of the park by 6:00 and if so, how do the park attendants know who needs to leave? Specifically I'm wondering if we can be in line for a ride that might finish after 6:00 (or have us out of the park after 6:00), or if I can make a dinner reservation at like 5:45 and then leave after dinner as long as we start dinner before 6:00? I would love to do the dinner thing at the end of the day when we can't be riding rides any more anyway.

As of right now, there are no dinner reservations after 2pm (ish). That may change.
I hear it's a good day to go to MK because people tend to flock to different parks on party nights. What about going to MK in the morning and hopping to another park for the evening?

I currently have reservation times coming up for as late as 5:55 for Jungle Skipper on 8/31. Which is what made me wonder if it was allowed if you don't have party tickets.

Whoops. The dining reservations opened up and I missed it (clearly need to catch back up on the MNSSHP thread).

I have reservations for 5 pm at Skipper's on a party night and there was no warning that we would need a ticket to dine at that time. If there was nothing on the confirmation that stated you needed a ticket to the party in order to dine at that time, you'll be fine. We have dined at Skipper's on a party night and they will come through the restaurant to see who has party bands on and who doesn't. If you don't have a band, you will be escorted out of the park after your meal.

Last time we went during the time of MNSSHP in 2013 (we generally like to go when you can stay late but not pay so much extra), we didn’t get tickets to the party, but I believe we got in line for a ride right at 7 (they used to close then) and got on. We were allowed to buy popcorn (obviously because then they get more money) and the cast members kept telling people to leave if they didn’t have a party ticket.

Great, thanks DisneyWishes and disneylover. I made the 5:55 reservation (now the only one left for dinner or I might have at least chosen 5:30 or something) and that might be a nice way to stay in the park an hour later that night.

make sure your party uses the bathroom before you leave the restaurant as I have seem where they would not let you stop at bathroom even with young kids as you are escorted out

The party doesn't officially start until 7p. My guess is with the park closing at 6p and the party starting at 7p they use that hour as a buffer for guest like yourself with dining or wanting to shop. After you leave from dinner, I'm sure you'll be asked by a cast member to see your bands for the party.

You cannot shop after 6:00.

Crowds are usually lower at MK on party days. Make an ADR at Ohana and watch Hallowishes from the Poly beach or Trader Sams patio

That is totally unacceptable!
from what I have read first bathroom that you could stop at while being escorted out was one outside the gate. remember one mother complaining that they were not allowed to stop at one as her young kids wanted to go. may not be acceptable seems to happen so as I said make sure you stop at bathroom before leaving reaurant

You may think so, but Disney does not agree. If you are staying late and know you will be in the park past the official closing time to make an ADR, use the facilities at the restaurant. It will be the last stop you are allowed before you are escorted from the park. The other option is to not stay past 6 pm.

There are also bathrooms right outside the exit of the park so it's not as though Disney is leaving you with no restroom options.

Definitely lower crowds early in the day on party days, but after 4 (when people can get into the park with just their party ticket), things start to get pretty hectic.

Sadly it's a necessity.

Went to two parties a year for ten years, and one party the last two years (due to increasing cost and lack of any tangible changes or additions). People will find every excuse, will try every angle - to stay in the park without paying. It is one reason the last couple years the first parade start got moved to later, that dining reservations had a gap and two booking links, and now the reason the park is closing sooner. What party goers pay for is mostly special outdoor shows, special parade, special fireworks .... and if you manage to hide from CMs long enough you would be able to see all that for free.

I have been there when they have had the bathrooms blocked and guests stand there arguing "they have to go" ....... in the time it took them to finish their argument they could have already gone in the ones out front. The CMs just kept telling them it's party time, only guests with bands can enter the bathrooms but there was one just outside the gate for them". YES, guests hiding in bathrooms to then exit in time to watch the parade happened. I've been there when guests tried to push pass the line of CMs into Fantasyland with the story that their family was there. CMs told them "you can meet them outside the front gate." I've seen folks try to get in the stores and not be allowed without a band, I've seen them refused food ordering without a band and I've sadly seen parents put their kids in the candy line only to be told they could not have any candy without a band. Lots of adults teaching great lessons to their kids

Because plenty of people try to stay in the park to receive party benefits without paying for them, and paying guests are complaining about it, Disney has to do these things.

Yikes! Such a shame that other guests would do these things. I do think that it is unacceptable to not allow a person to use a restroom though, whenever they need to do so. An example is a person with Crohn's disease, they often can literally not wait to get to the next restroom stop.
