Park Choice Dilemma

2 weeks until our trip :cool1: and I thought I was all set. Thought being the operative word.

(FYI, I use TP and EasyWDW to help my planning.)

I had AK scheduled for Sunday April 21st. After reading a post about TP changing their recommended park schedule, I thought I'd give my trip a double check. Low and behold, I noticed an error! :scared: (the horror, I know ;) )

On the EasyWDW site, EMH for AK is listed as Monday when in fact it is on Sunday. Uh oh. :( I bet the EMH would knock it off it's second recommended park for that day. Yikes! (TP has it as a Neutral Park)

So, I thought I could switch my AK to Thursday April 25th (and thus changing HS to Sunday April 21st) but on TP the crowd levels are pretty similar. Hmmm...:scratchin

And then, when I went to change my lunch reservations, I noticed AK had more openings for lunch on Sunday vs. Thursday. :confused3

Since I never make the right choice when it comes to stuff like this I am coming to ask my fellow dis-ers, WWYD? Keep the park days as scheduled (AK Sunday, HS Thursday) since the crowd levels are similar -- or change them (HS Sunday, AK Thursday) because of the AK EMH on Sunday?

I just have no idea how EMH impacts crowd levels at AK. And I there isn't a chance my family will be up early enough to catch the bus to AK for EMH.

Thanks for any advice. I know we will have a great trip regardless. :)

Oh there are going to be a LOT of people that will HATE what I am going to say...too bad for them I have been going to WDW for 30 + years several trips a year and now live in FL The ONE time I used any advice was the first trip bought Birnbaums book That being said I have never used an online touring site or used the numbers for the park of the day. I see so many time that different sites have conflicting advice just like what you're saying

Do I ask & give advice here ?
OF COURSE but when I plan a trip I decide where I want to go and when I make the ADRs and plan around that If staying on property I always used to take advantage of the EMH What I'm basically trying to say is don't doubt yourself, make your plans and then stick to them you can overplan and take the joy & the fun out of the whole thing for yourself

Like I said, I probably don't have a popular opinion but it my humble opinion FWIW

My advice is to not stress about it!
As you said, you will have a great trip regardless.

I consulted touring plans and easywdw when making my ADR's last year at day 180. Of course best days changed to worst days as my trip approached. I was stressed too! But I decided to leave it alone and I'm really glad we did. We had a wonderful time!

I also have to say the weather was stormy on a few days and that really impacted the crowds on the following days. For example, we headed to Epcot one morning on a windy, stormy day. It was supposed to be the worst day to go according to tp. Well it was dead there. The next day (on Epcot's best day to go) Epcot was slammed with people because they didn't go the day before.

So don't worry! Go....have fun!

You may want to consult a different calendar before you start making changes. The one on Disboards shows April 22 as EMH for AK and the 21st EMH in the evening at the MK.

http://media.disneywebcontent.com/S.../pdf/ParkHours/WDW_Operating_Calendar_apr.pdf

I have found to be the best and most reliable. You may want to check your dates here.

TP, UT, and WDW's site has AK EMH on Sunday.

Easy, Disboards, and the calendar you have (I think it is for Travel Agents) lists Monday.

:scratchin Hmmm.... which one is correct? You'd think WDW, but then again I've read they are notoriously wrong. :rolleyes2

:flower3::flower3: Thanks everyone! :flower3::flower3:

I was all happy and set with my schedule -- why did I get myself all worked up over this I have no clue! I guess being done and set with 14 days to go made me restless. I love planning so I gave myself a project! :upsidedow: OY!! :rolleyes2

Although, I still would like to figure out the REAL EMH for AK the week I'm going. :)

I think I'm sticking with my original plan. I am really happy with it, especially because we are staying at an Epcot resort and have our days on Disney busses staggered. (we aren't a fan of the busses. )

I would stick with your original plan and don't stress it...sometimes one change leads to a bigger chain reaction then everything is moving around...personally, I don't think it's worth it. I don't the EMH will make that big a difference to badly affect you AK day and since you're so close to leaving, I don't think it's worth the stress...relax and have a great trip!
