Seriously people! You are arguing about bus stop! Seriously? Seriously? Really, who pays attention where you are being dropped off? I don't even know where we are being dropped off. We should just all be thankful that this bus service is free...

This deluxe, moderate and value arguement is ridiculous.
I completely agree! :)
The bus service is a FREE service offered to everyone. Just like making ADR's are open to everyone. Are we really going to start putting everything into a value/mod/deluxe catagory?
To be honest, my memories of our trip do not include the walk to the bus, or the wait for the bus. But memories of my son interacting with Mickey. Or when we were Table of the Day at Le Cellier. Being scared out of our minds on Dinosaur then laughing about it after the fact! THESE are the things that made our vacation magical. And in no way would we let walking a few feet to our bus ruin or put a damper on our vacation.

Count this as another vote to lock this thread. I'm actually pretty shocked that it's gotten to 7 pages.

Nicely Said, I also agree with the original op. I take a lot into cosideration when choosing my resort stay and to be quite honest transportation is a big part of my planning. Service is Service and quite frankly she has a point.

From the Disneyworld Web Site - Benefits of staying at a Disney Resort.

Disney Transportation
Save time and money thanks to complimentary transportation throughout Walt Disney World® Resort, including motor coaches, water taxis and the Monorail.
  • Enjoy door-to-door service that delivers you just steps from the Theme Park gates.
  • Feel free to enjoy all the fun without worrying about driving.

Where does it say you get dropped off closer if you stay at a deluxe?

Sorry if this has already been posted. Way to many posted to read through.

Ok, please please please do not flame me. This is an honest question with no harm intended to anyone.
Why do people ask for the thread to be locked? If you are done reading it or "over" the debate why not just unsub or quit reading? I guess I don't understand why threads are locked when really it is just harmless banter between people. I have not seen anything that would be considered over the top or hurtful.
Just a question.... thanks in advance for non-flaming answers! ;)

Please lock this thread.

(I can't believe what I read on disboards sometimes :sad2: get a life people)

Because people are being abnoxious about this topic and I don't think that the OP meant to get such answers. Yes, other's have experienced this, no- many do not agree. That's about as far as this needs to go. There's no reason for such attitude on the DIS. 7 pages of the same thing over and over again is enough.

Whether or not I agree with the OP is besides the point- I think that there's no reason for this argument to go on this long, and it really is silly.

I do think that calling people "elitist," telling them to "suck it up" or "take their hoity toity *** and shove it" and saying "god forbid you have to walk an extra 50 steps" is more over the top than is needed to answer the OP's question and/or "discuss" the topic.

Letterdavidman - :lmao: to your first post. I was a CP and when I discovered that website... All my grudges to all the positions I despised working at at Splash and the Guest situations just all went away. Hilarious, but only to those who have worked at WDW and understandy fully the joys and pains of the job.

And I do agree with dreamergirl78 - if you've read the thread, posted, or opted to not share your opinions, we are still entitled to freedom of speech. Besides, I like to read what other people's views are with this topic.

While we don't have the option of opting out of the transportation and paying a lesser amount, nothing is free. Mickey Mouse doesn't foot the bill for transportation out of the goodness of his heart. They have a budget and part of the budget is the transportation. The money is brought in by people staying at the resorts and the people going to the parks and spending money there. And, I am doing them a favor by using their free transportation. Disney has made it so that I don't have to spend a dime any place but at Disney the whole time I'm in Florida. By offering me "FREE" transportation I get to spend even more money on their overpriced food, that is probably overpriced so that they can offer me free transportation. And while we are all guests at WDW, I'm sure they would much rather that we were all willing to spend money at the deluxe resorts over the value, because they make more profit and with that profit they can pay for my free transportation.

We share the magic, and unfortunately, we share the things that irked us. Thta's human nature. And that's all the OP was doing, stating their opinion about what they thought there were getting. People are complaining that this person is complaining. How funny is that. Suppose if everyone would have just blown some pixie dust her way and said, Shoot. Sorry you feel that way." No, instead it's seven pages of complaining about someone complaining.

I think if the OP is not getting the answers they were looking for or they feel they are being flamed, then it is their right to change the title of the thread or delete the content. They can even ask that the thread be closed. So until that happens, people will continue to express their opinions.

Just a correction...I never said 'god forbid you have to walk an extra 50 steps'..it was more like...'to be honest, what's the big deal with walking an extra 50 steps in the course of a day'.
If someone doesn't care to respond to this thread then they shouldn't. I have asked for it to be moved to a different board. It's really not appropriate for the Theme Parks board. But for people to ask for it to be locked just because they don't care for the tone of the thread isn't right either.

You will find that there are going to be some who are 'offended' when others here do not agree with a particular stance. Or there will be some that post in a 'less than positive' manner. I, for one, have yet to say anything here, on the DIS boards that I wouldn't say to someone's face. For the most part, everyone has been pretty well behaved.

Now, to address the original issue, which I didn't do.....perhaps the OP was dropped off at the POP stop because those are the people he is now supposed to pick up. The same bus does not make continuous circles, from let's say, the GF to Epcot and back to GF, and then to Epcot. The bus routes are very fluid. The driver may have been directed to pick those at the POP stop up and deliver them back to POP from whatever park the OP was at....Epcot I would hazard a guess since POP is waaaaay down the line there.

In the big picture, I would hate to think that this would ruin someone's trip. It's just not that big a deal.....well, at least not for me anyway.

Yes I understand that. But if you are tired of reading the thread, then just unsub! I see plenty of threads that go on for days and days about fanny packs and resort mugs. When it gets old I stop reading.
Anyway, thanks for the viewpoint! I appreciate it! :)

Of course you can opt out and pay less. It's called staying off site! Rent a car and get out of dodge if you want. Nobody is forcing you to take the bus! And while it is true everything is worked into the overall cost of the package, Disney could easily charge a per day or per trip rate for the use of their transportation. Instead it is a perk of staying on site. Profit is all relative. We stayed at a value resort and because we did we spent way too much on misc. stuff. If we had stayed at a deluxe our spending limit would have been MUCH less. (for our situation anyway). So really what they would have made by us staying at a mod or deluxe we made up for by doing more shopping.
I don't think there were complaints about complaining. It was more about the overall tone of the original post. So now you are complaining about us complaining about the original complaint. So again I say, if it bothers you unsub and/or stop reading. Pretty easy to do. And those of us who enjoy a spirited debate can continue doing so! :sunny:

Here is me for the past 20 minutes. :surfweb: Not proud of it, I just couldn't believe what I was reading. Like a traffic accident when you just can't look away. :sad2:

Disney doesn't need Super Soap weekend anymore - just these DISboards!!! This is worse than any soap I've ever seen. :happytv:

Seriously, people. ENOUGH. Stop stirring the pot. :stir: If you can't do that, step away from the computer. :badpc:

:rotfl2: :lmao:

How did this thread get 8 pages and the "i saw two kids going potty in line' thread only get 3?

That's way, way worse in my humble opinion.

Then of course there's reading the news on CNN...don't get me started. :thumbsup2

When we were there in late August we noticed something frustrating. We stayed at WL and when we would arrive at the parks via bus, the bus would OFTEN stop at one of the POP bus stations, which was often number 13 or so, and tell us when we return to go to bus stop number 2 or 3! (because number 2 or 3 was the REAL WL stop). We got frustrated having to walk from far away stops to the park entrance just because our bus was about to turn into a POP bus and needed to be at that station to pick up POP people. It probably sounds petty or snobbish, but part of our choosing a deluxe resort was the transportation perks. Have any of you experienced this? Does it happen frequently or did I get a bad week?

I haven't read the entire thread but wanted to say the reason the driver did this was because his next trip was to POP. Just think how upset people at the WL bus stop would have been if the bus had stopped there then he told them they couldn't get on the bus there because he was going elsewhere. Either way the bus driver doesn't win and upsets someone. This way is probably easier for him/her since only one stop was involved. Sometimes they aren't trying to annoy the guests but trying to be effective.

Resort class is one of those discussions that goes in the same category with religion and politics - DON'T discuss it because it only leads to anger, frustration and hurt feelings.

The personal attacks on BOTH sides of this argument need to stop, RIGHT now.

I have a 2 week old at home now, and didn't have time to scan the entire thread - I only made it to page 4. If another mod has already asked you all to play nice, I apologize for the redundancy.

I saw two kids going potty on the bus from WL because they couldn't wait for the long walk from the POP bus stop. :thumbsup2
