Hi everyone,

We are off to the World next month. We always have extra QS credits but can use up our snacks readily.

I would like to get some treats at the bakeries eg Main Street, Animal Kingdom, Starring Roles, France etc.

I want to use QS credits so two questions please -

1. I have read that Main Street Bakery is fine with this but has anyone tried the others?

2. What should I specify or should I just say at the register?

Thanks.

Starring Rolls both have QS options available (really good sandwiches with a side & dessert) so you can use QS credits at least at those 2. But are you talking about getting multiple snack items for QS credits? I have had hit or miss success with this, depends on the location and the CM. 2006 & 2007 I was able to do this almost everywhere. 2008 not allowed at resort (Pop) but yes at MS Bakery. I do think the CMs at MKB are more accomodating maybe because so many people end their trips at MK and are trying to use up those last few credits. I had 3 to use last year and they were wonderful about letting me get an assortment of goodies even allowing me to use all 3 credits at once even though the card said 2 people. Again this is totally at the discretion of the CMs and although I ask POLITELY I never assume!

Thanks so much for the reply. So that is Mains Street and Starring Role approved! I am happy to use QS credits and take the drink etc rather than exchange for snacks. I know this can be a little inconsistent. Any experience of others eg Norway, France, Animal Kingdom etc??

Thanks

I really believe that it is up to the cast member and how you treat them. Kindness goes along way. I always ask the CM if this is okay, and some says yes and some say no but you can do it this way, and very few say no.
Just ask the worst that can happen is they say no.

I have used TS for QS meal with an extra treat( Oct 2009). France Bakery

I have use a 1 left over TS for 6 pieces of fudge at Goofy's Candy's(Dec 2009), I tried this again the following year and was declined (march 2010).

We used 1 TS at POFQ(Oct 2010) for 2 muffins, 2 yogurts, 2 juices, and 2 coffee's - This one shocked me, I asked CM if we could use 1 TS for 1 of each instead of a reg breakfast as this was the last TS we had and we wanted to use it for snacks for the ride home. I did tell her that we would pay for what was left oop.

We were there in (march 2011) had 1 TS left and we use it for a QS at Earl of Sandwich at DTD for a sandwich with 2 sides and 2 drinks. Again we ask the cashier what we would like to do. She said whatever - that's okay
But my girlfriend and her family tried it the week after we were there and they only could use it for the sandwich, side or dessert and drink.

We did have DXDDP so I don't know if this had anything to do with it or not.

Last December at the Patisserie in France we asked and were able to choose 2 pastries and a drink for the CS credit.

On the same trip at the Kringla in Norway we got a sandwich, pastry and a drink. We asked about getting 2 pastries, but it wasn't allowed.

If you were on Deluxe, you didn't have "1 TS" left...because the Deluxe plan does not give you table service and quick service credits. They don't keep track of them as so many quick service & so many table service. All the meal credits are interchangeable on Deluxe...you get 3 meal credits per night which can be used in any combination of restaurants. You could get 3 TS a day, or 3 QS or 2 QS & 1 TS, or 1 QS and one 2 TS place, and so on.

So I think you just got extra pixie dust on what the clerk allowed  (or you actually had 2 credits left, maybe.)

I was there the first week of January and used a CS credit at Kringla Bakeri in Epcot's Norway to get a sandwich, drink, side of either soup or fruit bowl and a pastry for dessert.

I got the Norwegian Club sandwich, a bottle of water, a bowl of fruit (wished I'd tried one of the soups but I didn't find out about this component until I was at the cash register) and a Cloudberry Horn.

The food was plentiful and delicious and it was a GREAT use of a CS credit. I'd do this again in a heartbeat (only next time I'd get a soup, of course ;) ).

There are always cast members near the front of the line in the bakeries whom you can ask about what you are entitled to have with a CS credit and they'll let you know. This is especially true for Main Street Bakery and the Boulangerie Patisserie. Once you know what you can have, you can make your choices and then just "pay" at the register once you've received everything.

I don't believe you can get anything other than pastries at Kusafiri in AK so I don't think you can use a CS credit there but I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask. Others have had success getting two pastries and a drink with a credit elsewhere in the "World" so you could ask and see what they say.

The Boardwalk bakery also has sandwiches so I know you can use a CS credit there no problem.

Good luck and have a great trip!!
