park attendence in September?

Do any of you know what the parks are like for crowds in September?
I really dont want to be mobbed with people for at least one of our trips.
And I dont want to go in the winter time.
I was thinking the 2nd or 3rd week of September.
Any ideas? Any experiences?
We have been in May and October and both times were pretty packed.

we usually go the second week in December (very low crowds) but this year we are doing September. (21 through Oct. 2)

from what I have read on the boards - you will be very pleased in the crowds. After the 1st and second week...the crowds die down some (except on the weekends of course...) Most kids are back in school by then, so not to many people want to take their kids out for a vacation.

October is the wine and food festivel, right? that's prolly why the crowds pick up.

We are also going the 2nd week of September, and have heard great things about the low crowds.

We usually go in the summer - late July/early August, and while I have never been bothered by the crowds too much, I am really looking forward to "having the parks to ourselves". We are hoping for a little more time to do other things on this trip, and relax a little more, and not feel like we have to stampede to every attraction before a 1-2 hour wait is starting.

I have heard that it can be hot, but since I have gone, the heat has never really bothered me. Ofcourse, I carry a mister fan with me, so that may be why

The short hours stink, but with less crowds, should be more than feasible!

We have been at the end of Sept 2 times and the crowds were great. We rarely ever had a wait over 15 min. I think our longest wait was 30 min for Splash Mountain.
The hours are shorter which is a drawback. My family does not like to get up really early so we normally sleep in some and hit the parks about 10 or 11. You still have time to do stuff but it would be great to be in the park in the evening. It is still pretty hot at the end of Sept.
But with the low crowds we got to do everything we to each day.

During the second week of September last year we got so used to walking on to every attraction that a wait of even five minutes started to upset us. And usually those waits were only for shows, because the current show has to end before the next one begins.

In fact, there were times (such as first thing in the morning) when the crowds were *too* low. The parks can seem kind of spooky when you're walking around and don't see another person anywhere (especially that New York street scene at MGM). Also, it was our first time, and we had to purposely move slowly through the queues so we could see the pre-show stuff, while other people just walked past us.

When we did the Energy ride at Epcot, there were only about a dozen people, and the CM joked that there weren't enough moving theatre cars for everyone to get their own, that we'd have to share. Still, most of us bunched together in one car while four or five went completely empty, just so we could feel like we were sharing the experience with someone!
