paris syndrome???

I'll admit that I was disappointed by the atmosphere of petty crime in Paris, but to get a syndrome over it... weird.

Although... I have had an unending desire for a true Parisian-style crepe sucre that I haven't been able to resolve since I came home. Maybe I should see a psychiatrist...

I seriously thought, from the title, that this was going to be about Paris Hilton....
I thought it would have to do with children wanting to dress like her and be like her....:confused3 :lmao:

LOL! I did too when i saw the title in the news! :rotfl:

I thought it was going to be about Paris Hilton too and the impact of her hoochiness! Haha! :rotfl:

LOL! I was HOPING it wasn't about her, AGAIN!

Heck, if they were affected by that send them to NY at rush hour and they might need shock therapy! :rotfl2:

"In Japanese shops, the customer is king, whereas here assistants hardly look at them ... People using public transport all look stern, and handbag snatchers increase the ill feeling."

OmG, send them to the Soup Nazi and a trip on the subway!!! :lmao:

I have a Paris syndrome- an unyielding desire to go LIVE there. I loved the city.

I can't imagine actually needing therapy from encountering rude people, though. It's all very bizarre.

Man, I have that same syndrome...I LOVE Paris! That article was a bit on the strange side.

I found that if you just take a minute and learn a phrase or two in French, greet people before you start blabbering questions, and thank them when you are done...you will have a wonderful time.

This is KEY!!!

Even though my french was pretty awful- I tried and I tried HARD to speak it anyway, and I really think that the French appreciate that you are trying.

And petty crime- I didn't experience anything, I do know it's pretty bad. But geez- I'd take my chances in Paris over A LOT of cities here in America! I live close to St. Louis, where the crime rate is pretty abysmal, but I still go there. I'm just usually more worried about getting raped/mugged/shot than someone simply taking off with my purse.
