Anyone have been or going to Orlando recently?? I posted this on the Universal boards & they suggested I post on WDW boards. Not sure where they fit on the WDW boards, but I know alot of parents here on the WDW boards would understand. Any help would be appreciated.

I could use all the help that I can get.....*pixie dust please*

Maybe I'll print out flyers to hand out??? How about an official Missing Person's Report?? I think I'm losing my mind.

I do hope you find her! All I can do is give you some hope.......the Disney staff is great. My son lost his "ears" (ok not as valuable)and I filled out a lost card at the front desk of our hotel (where we lost it). The day after we got home a package arrived. Inside were his ears! So there is hope out there!

My heart goes out to you and to DD!! Our DS is 8 now, but he still takes a special "friend" whenever we go on a trip, and I still cringe at the thought that we might lose it!

This won't help with your DD and "Daisy," but maybe it will help others:

Way back when DS was very young, we started putting a harness and leash on whichever stuffed toy we were taking. We bought the smallest small-animal harness that we could find that would fit the stuffed toys and would either buy a small leash or make one out of ribbon and a snap clip. I used a laundry Sharpie and wrote our last name and phone # on the harness. Depending on which stuffed toy we were taking, we'd have to make some modifications in the harness so it would fit snugly. It makes it so easy for DS (and us) to keep up with the stuffed toy (esp. on plane trips).

DS has been in favor of the idea (sometimes kids don't want you to mess with their toys!), but then, we laid down the rule that either the toy got the harness put on, or it didn't get to go anywhere with us. I would recommend keeping the "leash" part short -- just long enough for a DD/DS to hold onto -- as a long, dangly cord could be a safety problem. Then, to prove to DS that it wasn't going to hurt his toy, we've had to do the "put 2 fingers between the harness and the toy" safety check.

We still use it, in fact I just unearthed the harness for our up-coming ski trip. It's been on everything from stuffed sharks, stuffed 3-headed dragons, Dumbo, Bambi, various stuffed cats, and even a stuffed snake (that one was a challange!).

As a parent of now 12 and 13 year olds, I know to well what you are going thru. My daughter has a stuffed dog, that went everywhere with her when she was a baby too a 8 year old. She still sleeps with it to this day and Mazy travels with us alot too!!!
I can't imagine, the pain a sorrow that my daughter and myself would feel to lose this animal.
I am sending lots of hugs and pixie dust for Daisy to be found. The other thing I can suggest: do you have a picture of Daisy?
If you don't find Daisy, here is an idea. Somehow take Daisy out of the picture and place her in a picture of some warm vacation place. Send the picture of Daisy and a letter thats from Daisy to your daughter. Explain how Daisy is having a wonderful time on vacation, misses her tons but would love to stay in this tropical place. If this would help, find a special new stuffed doll and put it in the package with the letter. This would be a special present from Daisy to your daughter, does this sound weird. I had a friend that did this with her son that lost a lamb when he was six. Good luck and I hope all works out for you!!!

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry, and I completely understand. My sister had a Bert doll (as in Bert and Ernie) that was her whole entire world. She got it her first Christmas. It went everywhere with her and was very much a "real" part of our family. Well, one year on Halloween, Bert fell (or maybe jumped ;) ) out of the car while we were out Trick or Treating. We were frantic! We posted pictures all over town, ran an ad in the paper, made fliers to hand out to all the school kids, and even offered a reward in the hopes that someone had found him. Sure enough, some kid had picked him up out of the street and taken him home. After about four days missing, Bert came home safely and he will be attending my little sister's wedding next month. I still remember how awful it was. I really, really hope somebody can help you guys out!

So sorry you've lost Daisy-My kids (now 19 and 16) both had favorites-thank goodness we've always found them when they've been lost. Is it a "so soft baby girl" by Learning Curve? Amazon sells them for $12.99 (ships next day). I like the spa at the GF idea to explain the "newness".

we are going in april, i have to go over to universal studios, we think we trew our us tickets away and thank heavens we found the reciept to get new ones, anyways, i will ask lost and found sometimes going there in person may be a better chance to find poor daisy. i have seen the pic and i will print out the discription and around. did you try calling some restrauntants of shops that are on the citiwalk to see if someone picked her up and turned her in to a shop , the sad part about it, i hope a worker didnt pick her up and toss her.

i know how you feel, say thing happened to dd when she was 2, she had pooh since she was born and pooh went everywhere with us, he was almost like another child always had to keep an eye on him, well we were in marthas vineyard and drove home stopped in PA and then about 3 hours from Pa we noticed pooh was gone, dmil called the hotel in PA and was found, the hotel shipped it to us, another time when dd was 4 we were wdw and pooh had gotten rolled up in the sheets when maid service came and thrown in the wash. we didnt noticed until we were driving down to marco island, well i called the resort and again he was found and sent to the poly were we had ressies after marco island. and of course they stop making that pooh about 2 years after it came out in the stores.

well dd is 6 now and thank heavens she doesnt need to bring pooh everywhere with us now.

i know what its like and how you and your dd feels ,but hang in
there::yes:: and keep us posted

Thank you all so much for the wonderful ideas, offers of help, stories of hope, & support. I love them all.

Love the harness idea. I even thought of just masking tape with contact info on it from now on...of course I thought of it AFTER Daisy left us. GRRR......I do hope that I'll get Daisy back so that I can do better...now that I know better.

Called again today...no luck. I think they're getting tired of me. But I don't care. Maybe another guest picked it up & will leave it in their room after they check out....I'm hoping it gets to a lost & found eventually.

OOOHHHH....gives me an idea...I'll call the other 2 hotels there. I'll try anything.

THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!!

I know how you feel. Three years ago we went to North Carolina for a family reunion vacation. My oldest DD then almost three of course had her blankie with her that she's had since birth. We stayed for a week. Great vacation, but after we had packed up and left for home (we drove from Minnesota) we found that the blankie was missing. We were already 3 hours from the resort and were riding with Grandma and Grandpa so we could not go back. I called the resort and talked to the housekeeper who had cleaned our room who said she had not seen it. I left my name and address just in case, but did not hold out much hope. DD was devastated. When we got home we tried to find another blanket just like it, but of course we couldn't. And even if we had it wouldn't have been the same. Needless to say naps and bedtime were very teary. I don't know who was more upset, DD or me!
About a week later the mailman knocked on my door with a package with postage due. It was $6 and I had no idea what it was and was kind of irritated someone would send us a package postage due. Lo and behold it was her blankie! It had gotten caught up in the sheets and they found it when they were doing the laundry. I would have paid $600 for it at that point! DD was so excited! She's 6 1/2 now and still has that blanket. Still sleeps with it and everything. So don't give up! Daisy may turn up when you least expect it!!

I know EXACTLY what you mean!!! I love the happy ending stories. Thank you. It gives me so much hope.

I got a super-excited call at work yesterday from DD8. She had left her "silkie" (a 12" by 12" square of once pink satin and flannel -- now gray shreds) at our cabin a few weeks back and had been moping about it ever since. My parents went up to the cabin this past weekend and found it there and fed-ex'd it to her. I think she's going to be carrying that icky raggedy thing down the aisle with her when she gets married!:earseek: But it makes her happy, so she can keep it at bed time as long as she wants.
