Hi guys...

I am having so much trouble trying to figure out what to get our parents for the wedding. I just have no idea what to do!!! Has anyone done this, and if so... what did you buy??

Please help!!!

Thanks
Jamie

I purchased family heritage crests ($21 unframed at family-crests.com which I'm buying frames for myself. you can also buy at wdw at the uk in epcot, not sure of price $.) for my parents and his. Then we were going to get a personalized gift for each parent including a sentimental letter of thanks & love. Along with these after the wedding we will gift parent wedding albums & copies of the wedding video. We thought these were great ideas & ones are parents would appreciate.

best of luck!

For both of my parents, I got them nice handkerchief's that were embroidered with "Mom" and "Dad" respectively. I also got my mom a throw embroidered with "A Mother is a special part of all that's precious in the heart" from Things Remembered. For my dad, as he's a golf fanatic, I got him a golf ball pouch set engraved with "Dad" on it.

Since my parents have offered to give us some money towards our wedding, my fiance and I thought that it would be nice to pay for their plane tickets to Orlando. Other than that, I haven't thought of another gift.

Another possiblity would be to have gift baskets waiting for them when they check into their hotel. You could include stuff for them to do together at Disney. Such as a couples massage at the GF, or you could book a Wishes or Illuminations cruise for each set of parents and just let them (Disney) know that you would like to have Champagne & Strawberries on board for them when they arrive. Then you could create a voucher or a formal invitation to surprise them with the cruise and put that in the gift basket. You can also have shirts made for them that say "Mother/Father of the Bride" and the same for your DH2B's parents, "Mother/Father of the Groom" to add to the basket as well.

We're planning on just making eveyone gift baskets with disney necessities (sunscreen, ponchos, bottled water, snacks, etc.) We also are going to buy each set of families an engraved silver picture frame, and after the wedding we intend on sending them enough photos to have them filled. We're both college students, and after our wedding he's attending pharmacy school so we're VERY tight on money. We are paying for our own wedding though, so I don't think anyone is going to be too dissapointed. At least I hope not!

Very nice ideas! We are also planning on making gift baskets for the all of the guests, but I think it might be a nice touch to do a special one for the parents!!!!

Thanks
Jamie

My DH and I got our parents parent albums from our wedding photographer. After all the money that was spent around the wedding time, we didn't want them to have to buy wedding picutres. Each set of parents got two 8 by 10's and a dozen 5 by 7's. It was a huge hit!
