Parent swap?

How does this work exactly?

There are some rides DD (whose only one year) won't be able to go on, but mommy *would* like to go on. How does the parent swap work? Who do I go see about the parent swap option? Do they give me a fastpass or something?

Also, for Toy Story, if I have DH and DS go ahead with the stampede and I mosey on over with DD in her stroller, can I still participate in the parent swap, or do I need to be there right away? I'm not interested in the big rush with DD in the stroller if you KWIM. I'd rather get there when we get there and get the fastpasses for later.

Rides that have height restrictions, such as Soarin, offer parent swap. My DH and I use it all the time; it is great.

When you get to the beginning of the line, you tell the CM that you want to use parent swap. Most rides now require that they see both parents and the child who does not meet the height requirement. They will then give you a ticket, similair to a FP to use when the 1st parent gets off the ride. As the waiting parent, you can then go on the ride with up to two people (I think it is 2, may be 3) through the FP line.

Some rides like Star Tours, will have you go all the way up to the ride with your young child and you will ride right after each other, swapping the child.

Toy Story Mania does not have parent swap, because a young child can ride on it. Our kids have always liked the ride, even as babies, so i am sure your little will like it too.

I thought with TSM a lap child could not ride? Am I wrong? DD will only be 1yr and has to ride all rides sitting on my lap. That's why I thought we could do parent swap.

Is it called something else when a parent stays with one child and then is able to ride after the first parent is done riding?

Lap children ARE allowed on TSM. Our 13 month old LOVED it!

That's great to know, thanks! I thought I read on the Disney site that parents with small children should not ride. I guess that means I can!

My little guy sat right on my lap, or between us, and he loved it! I would bring her on.
