Thinking of doing this on our WDW cruise..
has anyone tried?....
Can you give me your thoughts please..did you enjoy it?

I have been parasailing twice, not through DCL, though. I absolutely enjoyed it, and would highly recommend it. It is beautiful and peaceful. Exciting enough to be fun, but no TOT! Hope you will try it! By the way, my 63 yr old mother goes every chance she gets.

My DH,my DS 8 and myself did this at CC in October and it was wonderful!!!!!!!!!!! PS I am scared of heights!

My DS did it on CC and loved it. I am afraid of heights so did not go. He went out with the first group which then gave us the rest of the day together. :bounce:

I agree!! I'm scared of heights, but hubby talked me into parasailing at Castaway Cay. It was an amazing experience.

Hubby has done this and loved it, but I am much too chicken. Check out the photos on my website. Just be aware that it might be cancelled if it is too windy.

It was very cool to up there all alone, very peaceful and serene and a very good view of Castaway Cay .... if you decide to do it, make sure you take a camera (waterproof) with you for some fantastic shots of the island .... Andy

I did it at CC in Jan with my DD(10) who is afraid of heights and it was amazing. My DD had a great time and wasn't scared one bit. Enjoy it.

My dd and I did it last July and it was amazing but for me too scary (I'm a height chicken too). I didn't like not having my back strapped to something and all I could think of was I was going to end up going backwards. I've also had carpel tunnel surgery in both my hands so my grip is not as tight as I would like it to be and that freaked me out a bit too. Also it didn't help that there was a thunderstorm not far from CC and even though it wasn't coming toward us, you could hear when the winds were howling when they picked up and I got some sprinkles from the clouds. It was just a bit freaky for me. But coming down was awesome - we had a great boat and the other people that were on there parasailing were fun and that made it very enjoyable!

has anyone done it at both WDW (contemporary resort) AND CC. which did you enjoy more? we are doing the land and sea vacation for our honeymoon and would like to try this out... wondering if anyone has a preference between the 2.

also, i read that you could go tandem at WDW, but not sure about CC, anyone know?

TIA

My friend and i did this and we had a lot of fun. OUr only regret was it didn't last long enough! We actually booked it with two other DIS folks and we all got to go togther and cheer each other on. My friend was afraid of heights, so we did this first thing in the morning, and she didn't eat or drink anything because she was afraid she would get sick. we made her go up first, and she did just fine.

Yes, you can do a tandem on CC .... Andy

Wow this sounds like great fun how much does it cost to parasail at the Contemporary and where do you go to do this.
Also is there an age limit, or age requirement ?

CC parasailing was Awesome. I did it solo and aunt and cousin did it tandem. Book the 3:00 you will be that last group t go out and some of the last on the Island. It gives you all day to enjoy the island.

Does antone know if there is a maximum weight you can be to do this? How do they bring you down and put you up? I'd be afraid I'd fall flat on my face coming in!

You won't fall. They slowly let the rope out on the way up and slowly pull you back down. It is very smooth.

The weight cap is 375lbs at CC .... Andy

you won't fall, you're attached to a wench, they reel you out and then reel you back in...when you come in to land, put your feet out and then take a couple of steps forward, one the parasailing guides will be standing there and grabs a hold of you as you come back onto the boat.

it's not scary at all, it's wicked cool!!!!!
