Paranormal Activity: Is It Really Scary?

Hm... so I saw Paranormal Activity over the weekend and I am astonished that this has been called one of the scariest movies ever. Really? REALLY?

I was so bored, only until the last 10 minutes or so did I start to feel scared but by the time I got there, I was ready to leave the theater out of boredom. Just a small step above the Blair Witch imo but with the BW, I didn't have the expectation of being scared out of my gourd.

Anyone else feel this way?

Fwiw, I saw 28 Weeks Later in theaters and had nightmares for a month afterward, that movie seriously scared me.

I didn't go, but the rest of my family went last weekend. Their opinions were the same as yours.

DD15 saw it with some friends. She loves those movies ~ she also said that it was not nearly as scary as they made it out to be.

(Although she did later tell me that she had a nightmare about it, LOL, so maybe it sneaks up on you.)

 

[The Mystery Machine]

My 18yodd saw it and she said she was laughing at it. She said it had some good supense moments however it did not "scare" her.

This is a kid who hates horror. It has to be pretty tame if it did not scare her.
