That is great to hear Credit Man and Madelyn. Are they making you do the finger scans when entering the parks Madelyn? Also, am I correct in thinking that with the World Passes you cannot save any days for future trips? They expire right? But they have unlimited use of the water parks, Pleasure Island and DQ for twenty days not just four visits? Sorry for all the questions everyone. I want to make completely sure before I purchase anything.

Sorry if this was posted, but the shipping at Paramount is $15 correct?

Also
Rileygirl,
Could you give me the email address for Rosa at Paramount? Thanks!:teeth:

We used the 10 day world hoppers in August. We did not visit waterparks but went from Park to Park & to Disney Quest during any given day. I did verify number of days remaining and all was in line with actual physical days we attended.

Remember - you can't carry these days over and they expire 21 days from first use. So don't buy this ticket planning to save days for later!

I considered it a fantastic deal and will be planning on this ticket again in 2004 if still available.

I know this is going to sound like a stupid question and let me apologize for that beforehand but how do you use these passes to go from park to park or the other non park places? We have always purchased packages that included unlimited everything from Disney and just used our room key/card. With these World Passes do you get ten tickets and use one each day everywhere you go? How does this work exactly? How do they know how many days you have left?

DisneyFreaks,

I have not had to do a finger scan but we are using the 7-day (non-expiring day) hopper pass. I did see someone in front of us have to get their finger scanned but I'm not sure what kind of pass they used.

You get one ticket. It is about the size of a credit card. It may be plastic or it may be paper (special, durable paper). The ticket will have a magnetic strip on the back. The strip has information on the cost of the ticket and the number of days of admission. Disney's computer keeps track of how many times you visit using that ticket. It knows if you hop and can properly account for each visit. With the 10 day pass you will have to do the finger scan. That's to make sure the pass is only used by one person (same person) for all 10 days.

FWIW, you will use the 10 day pass pretty much the same as you used the pass encoded on your room key. Of course, you will have to carry one more card and use the finger scan, but other that that it will be the same. HTH.

Thank you so very much CarolMN and Madelyn. This helps to know just how this stuff works. I'm really leaning towards buying our passes from Paramount. It really sounds like a great deal with very little problems.

I just read on another Disney Forum that these passes are actually for residents of the UK and that we Americans aren't really suppose to have them. Has anyone here from the US had any trouble at all using these passes? Also Mary at Mousesavers says to purchase these tickets at your own risk. I'm really confused now. Just when we decided to go with this company. It's always something isn't it? Someone reassure me please???

From what I understand, anyone from any country can use these passes. They are not marketed for the US market, but the tickets are valid no matter who possesses them. The passes are market to folks in the UK. If there was a problem with the tickets being sold to US citizens, then Disney would certainly take issue with them. Disney recently got onto Virgin Travel for "accidentally" tickets at a really great discount that were only supposed to be sold at that discounted rate if booked with a package. So, you can't tell me that Disney doesn't know that some of us natives are using the UK passes. I am seriously considering purchasing these for our December trip, but I might have to buy an AP if there is a better hotel rate available with them than I can find elsewhere. Mickey

Thanks for easing my mind Mickey. As I posted before this trip has had one problem after another. The last thing I need is for Disney not to accept our park passes after we get there! You're right, they probably would have done something by now if they weren't going to allow them.
