I just wanted to know if this was standard procedure when others purchased their tickets!!

Did you have to fax back your confirmation letter that you got emailed with a copy of your credit card?

It is just making me nervous. TIA for the responses.

I ordered my 6 day PHP tickets with breakfast vouchers on a Monday and my tickets arrived via UPS on Friday. I had to sign for the tickets. When I called on Monday, I spoke to Rosa. I ordered the tickets over the phone, gave her my credit card number. She then sent me a confirmation letter that I had to sign. I had to make a copy of the front and back of my credit card and then fax these back to her on that same day. ( i was a little worried about copying my cc and faxing it, but i had read many posts where people have done this with no problems ). The entire transaction went very smoothly, Rosa is very nice and I am very happy with the price and service at Paramount.

PS... She also sent me copies of the backs of my PHP tickets in case they get lost on vacation. :D

I was nervous about this too. When I called and asked if this was really necessary since if it fell into the wrong hands, they would have my CC info and signature and told them my concerns, PI said I could black out a portion of the number. PI told me this confirmation was just to verify that I was who I said (not someone who stole my CC #) or a kid, I guess. I still don't like the procedure, other online merchants don't require this, but they said they had been hurt before with problems and I felt better when I could black out some of the info.

I would suggest calling them and ask if you could do this, too.

Other than that, I really have gotten great service (and ticket prices) with PI Travel.

I ordered the tickets over the phone with Rosa. When I got the e-mail, I printed it, signed it and faxed it back - with NO credit card copy.

I was worried about faxing my card info. It does state on the form to make the copy and send it, but I just signed and faxed the form. I had no problems. My tickets arrived in 3 days.

How long did you wait to get the e-mail from Rosa from the time you ordered?
:smooth:

Do they ask you to fax your credit card if you order online, or is this only if you phone them? There is no way I'll fax anyone a photocopy of my credit card even if it means having to pay a little more to buy my passes elsewhere. I've never heard of anything like this and it sounds like a very unsafe practice. I order quite a bit of stuff online and over the phone; no one has every asked me to fax them a photocopy of my card or required a physical signature.

CTillberg - what they told you about being hurt before with problems, is in my opinion, baloney. Most merchants put a hold on your credit card account as soon as they get your order then charge your account before sending the merchandise. Something just doesn't sound right about this whole faxing a credit card thing.

Last year I bought three 10 day passes from PIT and recently bought three 30 day passes from them. I never had to fax them a copy of my CC. If you call and speak to Rosa you won't have to fax the CC. You do have to fax authorization forms back to them. the number is 1 888 281 6699

3stooges:

I called and spoke to Rosa and ordered my tickets in the morning before I left for work (around 10 AM). When I got into work, I checked my e-mail and Rosa had sent the confirmation. I printed the confirmation, signed and faxed it back (DID NOT send copy of credit card).
I received my tickets 3 days later.
