Paradiso 37 ....

It should be on the dining plan correct? :confused3

Sounds interesting for sure. I'll keep an eye out for more info...waiting to see the menu.

Nobody knows. It's at Downtown Disney and is neither owned nor operated by Disney (only three of the non-Disney TS restaurants at DTD participate in the dining plan) so it may turn out not to be on the dining plan.

I don't think it will be on the dining plan. When I called to make ADR's, I asked if I would be able to make ADRs there. They said that when it opens, they will not be taking reservations for it.

Paradiso 37 had it's soft opening yesterday, 6/4 to cast members.

It is opened today, 6/5 Friday to the public!!

Menu looks amazing.

This place looks really interesting! Can't wait to check it out:woohoo:

I had high hopes for this place. Dh and I have been looking for a good place for South American cuisine in light of the loss neuvo latino dining at Maya at CSR. Nothing "Latin American" about the menu.

The menu is typical fare for a Mexican restaurant in the U.S. Tacos, burritos, burgers, hot dogs. Corn on the cob is not a South American dish by the way. It's a picnic dish in the U.S.

Corn from places like Peru is very different from our U.S. corn. Clearly, they won't be featuring that. In fact, the most exotic option is the chorizo skewers. Hardly something to write home about.

What a disappointment!

Is the menu on here? I can't find it. Can someone post a link?

The menu looks yummy!!! Does anyone know where I can find a cocktail menu?!

Called today for an ADR for Paradiso 37 and sure enough the cast member confirmed that they are not doing ADRs through WDW-DINE. She stumbled all over herself offering me the phone number but Google was much faster so I politely hung up and called directly. When I called the place sounded really busy in the background. The person who took my call said that they were not going to be doing ADRs "at this time" and when I pushed to find out if they'd be doing more than just walk ups anytime soon she said "all I can confirm is that we are not doing ADRs at this time". Sounded very scripted. Oh well - we will be trying it this summer if the line isn't too crazy.

Thanks for the update MickeyMan :)

I agree with Elizabeth--I was also hoping for a more "old Maya Grill" menu.
This certainly isn't it.
And what is "street style"??
Cooked outside maybe??

UncleRomulus- I think by street style they mean items that are typically sold by street vendors in Latin American countries, like pupusas. If they're done right they're delicious. I'm hoping for some reviews soon!

Glad to see I'm not the only one who is unimpressed, Uncle R!

I see "street" dogs and "street" fries on the menu. Ooooh a hot dog from a hot dog cart -- be still my heart! That's just what I want when I go to a sit-down restaurant. Will they come with street dirt and grime?! Nothing special about that -- I can get a "street" dog any day on the streets in Manhattan.

As for the rest, ceviche is indeed a Peruvian dish. But, the point of ceviche is raw fish "cooked" in lime and other juices. If you pre-cook shrimp and throw it in limeade, that doesn't count.

As for the much vaunted pupusa, that's basically an empanada. Yes, I like a tasty and creative empanada as an appetizer as much as the next person. But, not when I have to have it with a standard fare taco platter chaser.

The menu is nothing like the inventive and somewhat authentic Nuevo Latino cuisine we miss at Maya Grill (I've been to Peru twice so I know whereof I speak). Granted things like whole guinea pig and beef hearts on a skewer are a bit much for the average American palate, but for heaven sakes, at least try for something a bit more inventive and sophisticated than a corn dog.

All I can say is when oh when will the current approach to Disney property dining not generate another disappointment??!! I've begun to think not in my lifetime.

I too think the menu looks good. Maybe it is not as upscale as some hoped, but I will like to try it.
