Your Palo dinner looked so good! And what a view

Not bad at all!the view from our table...not half bad![]()
Now y'all know that I'm a bad food reviewer and of course I didn't take notes so I don't even remember exactly what this was! I think Gnocchi?
There. You see? You're not a bad food reviewer... you got that one right. The bread...
The bread was good, well because, bread.
mmmmmm.... love a caprese saladAllie had been craving a Caprese salad all week.
It looks amazing. This one was gorgeous and she loved it.
That you were served food on round dishes? We both had the filet which was also delicious (sensing a theme here?)...
Not the Grand Marnier soufflé?And dessert was, of course, the famous Chocolate Soufflé...
Sounds good! Our server brought these as an after dinner refresher too.
I think it was liquor infused sherbet? No idea, but also delicious.
It was an incredible meal from the service to the atmosphere to the food and dessert.
Wait... What?We ended up skipping trivia this night
Late?? Me?? Never! Seriously, you wouldn't know this about me but if I'm not 30 minutes early, to me I'm late! My coworkers laugh when I show up at 6:30-6:40am for my 7am shift.
Or go on your own? Or was the beach too far to cab/walk to?I know! Now that I know better I would choose different (longer) excursions. Especially for the Jost Van Dyke Beach day in Tortola.
Yes! It's a little bit of a splurge but worth every penny!Your Palo dinner looked so good! And what a view![]()
There probably is a beach somewhere near the port but I like doing the DCL excursions. They feel safer to me and I know I won't get stuck somewhere and left behind when the ship leaves!Or go on your own? Or was the beach too far to cab/walk to?
Why, hello! And thank you!I’m joining in, Kelly, and am really enjoying your report! (And I certainly remember you!)![]()
I'll be in the OG Villas in a couple weeks for a few nights. It's been a couple years since I've been there so I'll have to see how it compares now having stayed in the tower. The new Poly Tower looks beautiful. I must admit that I’d probably defer to the OG Poly Villas
I will definitely be getting this again!I’d also love to try Wailulu Grill - that burger looks amazing!
Oof, that is a tough sell. Personally, I'm a germophobe and I don't really worry about Noro on DCL. They are always cleaning everything, they make people wash their hands walking into the dining rooms, and most of the food at Marceline's is not self-service anymore. I think with all that they have mitigated the chances of Noro to pretty low...never zero. Probably more likely to get Covid or a cold since it's airborne though!I’m enjoying reading about your cruise! I’m trying to convince my husband to try a Disney Cruise next year. He suffers from motion sickness and is nervous about Norovirus - needless to say, it’s a tough sell. We’d be limited to a three-day cruise (he said point-blank that he would only agree to the shortest cruise possible) but I still think it would be fun. I’m eyeing a Bahamas Cruise on the Fantasy that stops in Nassau and Castaway Cay. We’ll see what I can do!
Just wait! Haha! They didn't show Moana until the last night of the cruise for some reason. This was slightly annoying because it was our Castaway Day and the day we needed to pack up to leave. I'm getting to it soon! As far as the other shows, some of them are the same as the other ships and we've seen them so we didn't feel the need to go again!I’m surprised you didn’t go to any of the nightly shows (although maybe you do on other nights?) as I’ve nothing but great things about The Tale of Moana.
Yes! Big drawback! They should at least stay open until 8pm or so!It is odd they don’t leave the quick service places open for dinner on the ship - I would think it would appeal to families with young kids if they’ve had a rough day. At least room service is still an option!
WOW, this is one of my favorite salads ever!
MMMMM!!!! I didn't they that one. Love me a good soufflé though!
It's worth every calorie!MMMMM!!!! I didn't they that one. Love me a good soufflé though!
You sure know how to keep your readers riveted!WASH, RINSE, REPEAT...
I was trying to see what Allie was reading. (No luck)
I'm seeing a trend here.Our favorite lunch,
![]()
Ah, yes. I believe you mentioned this earlier. We were heading back to Marvel for our worst meal of the trip. That's next!
Me too! Yum!Allie loves Caprese Salads
Not exactly off to a great start. After looking at the menu Allie decided she didn't like any of the choices and asked if she could just order off the kid's menu...
Um... did she like this? It looks kinda... drowned?
And I suspect it's the lighting, but... that does not look appetizing. Was it okay?
They even gave her Mickey shaped ketchup![]()
it was sooooo rare and just so gross I couldn't even really look at it.
Well... in his/her defense... they should be.our server was really concerned for some reason that I didn't eat it
But... if you insist it's fine, then why bring another? Rather, if you'd said "It's too rare" then either don't bring another or bring one that's more cooked.he went and got me another one![]()
Cute.
You sure know how to keep your readers riveted!
I think she was reading The Summer I Turned Pretty. I read a lot...I can't recall what I read on the cruise but I've already read 16 books this year so far. My favorite was 11-22-63 which I HIGHLY recommend! Stephen King is an amazing writer and one of my all-time favorite books ever is The Stand, but this one will be up there. My other favorite so far this year was Roots by Alex Haley. I remember my mom watching the miniseries way back in the day when I was little. I have since read that there was some controversy surrounding the authenticity of his account but the book was riveting and powerful and so, so sad. And lest you think I only read these huge serious novels, I also read fluff and am currently reading The Comeback Summer which is cute but I'm sure will be forgettable the moment I finish.I was trying to see what Allie was reading. (No luck)
What books do you (both) like?
Well she had just had the amazing caprese at PALO the night before so she couldn't help but compare the two. There was a clear winner and this wasn't it!Um... did she like this? It looks kinda... drowned?
Eh...it was okay. Yes, that's a good way to describe it.And I suspect it's the lighting, but... that does not look appetizing. Was it okay?
No because if they had I would have said medium well with a light pink center. Maybe this is how Beef Wellington is supposed to be?Not okay. I'm curious if they asked how you wanted it cooked?
I've heard of it, but don't know it.I think she was reading The Summer I Turned Pretty.
Impressive! I used to do that (maybe even more?) but my reading has declined enormously. I doubt now I read more than 4 books a year.I've already read 16 books this year so far.
I never got into The Stand (should give it another go), but 11-22-63 is one of my favourites! I've read it at least three times. My favorite was 11-22-63 which I HIGHLY recommend! I've read it... but a long, long, long time ago.My other favorite so far this year was Roots by Alex Haley.
I don't recall if I watched all of it (probably not), but I do remember watching.I remember my mom watching the miniseries way back in the day when I was little.

It is not supposed to be raw!No because if they had I would have said medium well with a light pink center. Maybe this is how Beef Wellington is supposed to be?
Stop! You've read it three times? That's awesome! I don't know if I said this but Mike and I are driving down to WDW in October and he expressed an interest in it so we will listen to it on the way down. Oddly, that audio book would take a round trip WDW to complete since it's 30 hours long!I never got into The Stand (should give it another go), but 11-22-63 is one of my favourites! I've read it at least three times.![]()
Maybe that's what it's supposed to look like? I wouldn't normally order it but there was nothing else on that menu that appealed to me!That Wellie looks absolutely disgusting. Gross. I'll make a note of that restaurant in case I'm ever on that ship. But... sea days, sigh.... LOVE me a good, relaxing sea day.
