What a fun first day on the ship! Your room looks lovely and I am SO jealous of you going to the Haunted Mansion lounge!

I am seriously thinking of doing an European Disney cruise next summer. I wouldn't mind a 3 or 4 night sailing with a few days in DLP if I find I enjoy the park this summer.

Michelle and I do pretty well together because of this too. If we added Danielle for park trivia we would do even better.

That sounds amazing! I really want to go to Europe and I've been debating whether I should just go and visit or book a cruise so I can see more. I think 2027 will be the year so I have a little time to figure it out!

THE ONE WITH ALL THE FOOD


Our first full day at sea was a relaxing one. Allie got up and tried to run on the deck but was met with the dreaded stairs that everyone hates on the new ships. She gave up and went to the gym instead to run on the treadmill. I went to Marceline Market for my favorite breakfast on the Disney ships...


They truly have the BEST oatmeal! What a weird thing to get excited about, right?!

When Allie was done she came and met me and I had to go back for some Mickey waffles...I love how they give you the strawberries and whipped cream as an option.
And yes, these are on the kid's buffet but can't adults love Mickey waffles!


Allie found the fruit that I had completely missed when I was looking... it's all the way one the end kind of facing the doors.


I did attend the DVC Member Celebration this day but didn't win anything...boo.

I signed up to meet with a guide for later that afternoon because Mike and I had talked about adding-on Fort Wilderness Cabins so we could bring the pups a couple times a year. We have since decided we don't love the cabins and probably wouldn't be happy having to stay there so I think it's a skip for us.

Of course, by then it was time for lunch and Allie and I went to what would become our favorite lunch spot on the ship, Donald's Cantina...

It's literally Chipotle where you choose your wrap, you protein and your toppings.
We both got chicken tacos...so yummy

Afterwards we went up to the pool deck and just relaxed, read our books, sat in the sun, took a dunk in the pool, etc. I have no pictures of any of this

Our dinner this night was at 1923, my favorite restaurant on the ship, if only because it's not chaotic and loud. It was also formal night and there were servers handing out cocktails and glasses of wine in the atrium which was a nice surprise. I don't remember seeing this on other ships


Our table in 1923...our servers were MUCH better this night and had the drinks waiting and would always have a refill at the ready. I don't know if I already mentioned this but we had requested a table of our own because I always feel awkward sharing a table with strangers. So this was nice, we had a four top for just the two of us.



I got the four cheese tortellini as my appetizer...
Hyperion Four-Cheese Tri-Color Tortelloni Meyer Lemon, Artichoke, Sun-dried Tomato, Baby Spinach


Allie had the tomato soup...
Roasted Roma Tomato Soup Sourdough Purple Basil Crostini



We both got the same thing for our entree...
1923 Peppered Filet Mignon Buttered Long Green Beans, Smoked Bacon, Crushed Fingerling Potato Hash, Pink Pepper Café Au Lait



We both really enjoyed this dinner.

For dessert I got the...
Hollywood Hills Hot Chocolate Fudge Sundae Vanilla Ice Cream, Fudge Brownie Bites, fresh Whipped Cream, Glazed Cherry


Allie got these little doughnut holes with chocolate sauce but I can't find them on the menu that I googled so I don't know what they were called or if they are even still offered...


After dinner we headed to Periscope Pub, based on 20,000 LeaguesUnder the Sea...


for guess what?? More trivia!

This was actually REALLY hard and I was kind of disappointed in myself because I thought I would do better but I was literally stumped at most of these.

They also had fun drinks here. I forget what Allie got but they also have the smoke bubble guns...so fun!


Afterwards we just wandered the ship taking photos. I love how they have Walt and Roy and classic Mickey in the atrium...

More meandering.

We stopped by Jumbeaux's Sweet Shop just to look...​

It's very cute in there but we never feel the need to buy any sweets
with all the "free" food available to us.

One last pic of my Allie and an empty pool deck and we called it a night!


Back in our room this cutie was waiting for us...​

And here's how the room looks for the night with just the Murphy bed down...​

Honestly, coming back to the room at night with the lights dimmed and the room made up with chocolates on the bed might be my favorite part of cruising

Tomorrow is another sea day so advance apologies because it probably won't be any more exciting than this day!

One of the biggest complaints about this new class of ships. is that they don't have a continuous walking/running deck on deck 4 like all the other ships. Like you could walk part way and then have to turn around or you could go up stairs and then back down somewhere else...weird.

It is! And since all the newer ships were designed at the same time they all have the same issue. The hope is that this gets fixed with the next class of ships.

My DW and I will be on the Treasure this coming November in a party of nine adults along with our 1-year-old great grand-daughter. Can't wait to experience the Haunted Mansion. I've read so many reports about the MD food not being great. Most say the pool food is much better. I hope by now things have improved.

I think part of it is a matter of preference. We don't enjoy long, fancy dinners every night. Sometimes we just want a taco or burger and fries without all the ruckus of the MDRs.

We didn't win this one but we did pretty well.
Allie and I were a good team because I know the old stuff and she knows the new stuff.
I'd say we were in the top 3 for this round.
