My DW and I need to make a decision between Paradise Pier and Candy Cane Inn. What is everyone's preference if the price is the same? Thanks!

If the price was the same, I would probably go for the Paradise Pier because we rarely stay onsite. The walk is probably about as long and there's no breakfast, but it's fun to get the Magic Mornings and to walk through downtown Disney and/or the GCH instead of along Harbor. The waterslide at PP looks kind of fun too.

Paradise Pier hands down. The rooms are spacious. You can get to CAP right through GC. It is a very easy walk. My kids have done it many a time.

Hmm, If the price was the same, Paradise Pier, but with the Candy Cane, you do get free internet and free parking plus breakfast.

We never got to use the pool at PP because it was closed, but it looked like fun!

PP has free internet as well I thought.

Just got back from Paradise Pier and it was great. Rooms were bigger than the Grand Californian at one quarter of the price.
We stayed in the cabana rooms in the conceirge level.
They encourages you to take 12 paks of water back to your room and to the park as well as soda's and food.
The food was very good even the hot food at night was a meal in itself.
Plus free beer and wine for two hours.
Great stuff
Pics to come:cool1:

Plus you could go out on a platform and watch the fireworks with the music piped in on speakers on the deck by the pool.
You could then go back to your room (if you have a park view) and watch World of Color.

To watch World of Color in the park you need to go through the Grand Californian to park entrance and get fast passes.
The show was off the hook.

We loved everything about the Candy Cane except breakfast and the pool. They were friendly, the rooms very clean and spacious, free transportation, etc. The breakfast because it was so crowded you could not get a seat - we went across the street. The pool only because it was hotter than the air (we went in September). We would definitely go back.

I leave tomorrow, staying concierage at PP. May be a standard view room though. I was very glad to read your review, makes me even more excited about our trip.

My daughter is very interested in seeing the fireworks. The show you watched from the pool deck -- is that the Disneyland show? I figure we can go back to the lounge for cocktails and snacks, and watch the fireworks.

Definitely Paradise Pier if it's the same price! I really love the PPH. I was just there a couple of weeks ago, and, while I didn't have a concierge room, I've heard great things about the PPH concierge. I did, however, get a free upgrade to a park view room and had an awesome view of DCA, complete with World of Color and audible bloodcurdling screams from Mickey's Wheel of Death. Plus, you can't beat the Mickey ears bath products in the rooms, and the overall spaciousness.

I haven't been to either (yet) but have booked CCI for April as PPH was coming out much more even with discount (7 nights). Happy to know that CCI pool was warm in September - hope it will be in April as we would love to swim there. Realise that further discounted rooms for PPH probably won't happen now but if they did come out and price difference was only a bit more, we would still switch to PPH.

My grandkids love PP. The pool is great and has a great waterslide. It is where I'll stay until the DL hotel is done redoing all their updating and pool The Grand is just too expensive for me.
