Paradise Pier passholder rate

I'm trying to get a feel for how the best available passholder rate at Paradise Pier compares to the best available non-passholder rate. My pass is currently expired, so I was hoping a passholder could check out the passholder "Hotel Rates and Availability Calendar" rates so I can do the comparison.

I arbitrarily chose a date of Feb. 1 2016 with two adults no kids. The "Special Seasonal Offer" rate available to everyone gives prices as follows:

$233 - standard view
$281 - premium view

$317 - standard view, club level
$347 - premium view, club level

Are the passholder rates for Feb. 1 significantly better than this? Thanks.

Our current vacation plan is for a two week trip in late August, 2016. We'd renew our passes on the first day of our trip, and are considering spending the last couple of days of the trip at the PP.

Does anyone know if I could phone the PP in (say) late June and make a reservation in August at the passholder rate, even though at the time of booking I wouldn't be a passholder? Or, do I need to be a passholder at the time of booking?

PP standard room on 2/1, $220 AP rate. $270 for view, no club level rate shown.

Last summer there were no special AP rates. AFAIK, you don't need your AP when you book, but you will need to show it when you check in.

I just checked the passholder rate calendar and it says $220 for Feb 1st. I think that would be the standard view rate, but when I click through to get the other rates, it says that they are all unavailable except for the standard view, club level which is $317. I'm not sure if there is just a glitch in their system or if the other rates are all gone. When I click on Feb 2nd, I get the following:

$220 standard
$265 premium
$327 standard club
$352 premium club

It's hard to know what the rates will be in late August. From what I've seen, they tend to be pretty comparable that last week in August, mid-week. Earlier in Aug would be more.

Oh, I see speechphi just reaponded too. I concur, you do not need an AP to call and check rates or book them.

Passholder rates closer to and including early Spring break are higher March 13-17th, $353 night for standard and $398 for premium. We've gotten an Orbitz rate of $270 for standard ($326 including tax).

Thanks for the info, everybody (especially for confirming that I can book a passholder rate without having a valid pass on the day of booking).

I'm especially interested in the rate for a standard (non park view) concierge room at the PP. It appears from your data and some additional tests I have done on the Disneyland website that:

(1) $317/night plus tax is about the best rate anyone (either passholder or non-passholder) can expect to get for concierge non park view, and

(2) the passholder rate for a concierge room on a given day is somewhere between $0 to $20 per day cheaper than the non-passholder rate on the Disneyland website.

The last two times we stayed at the PP was late August in 2011 and 2012, and we got excellent rates each time. My notes indicate that there was a cheap rate for late August 2013, but since we went to Disneyland in July that year I couldn't take advantage of the offer. According to my notes from those years, the cheap late August rates weren't announced until late July of each year.

For the past two summers, we've made the decision to stay in a Sheraton Park concierge room rather than a PP concierge room. The prices at the PP have risen to the point where I can't justify the additional cost to stay there.

For example: right now, I could book a 4 day stay in a Sheraton Park concierge room (pool view, not park view) starting Feb 21 for a total of $170/day including tax. The best possible rate I could book for a PP concierge room would probably be at least $200/day more than that (including tax). We do enjoy the PP, but not to the extent where I would pay an extra $200/day to stay there. And, the rooms at the other two Disneyland owned hotels are of course even more expensive.

Nevertheless, my two teenage daughters have been asking to stay at the PP again. Perhaps in mid to late July I'll ask again for a DISBOARDS member to check out the PP passholder rates for late August. If I can snag a concierge room for around $325 or so plus tax, perhaps I'll book two or three nights there as a treat for my family.
