I thought I had booked a room at the disneyland hotel yesterday but it seems it timed out - grrrr.
Im going to try again today, but it occured to me I could change my mind as to which hotel!

We'll only be staying 1 night in a Disney property. Long story short (or prob long haha) we're staying in a good neighbour hotel for 3 nights during the week, then moving onto LA. As there will be no fireworks during the week, we're going to come back on the Saturday evening to see them and the late Fantasmic. This will be a late night with a drive/early morning for my husband who then has a long drive the next day up to Monterey. So I thought I would book a Disney hotel as a surprise, complete with the inroom celebration.

My question is - which rooms are nicer? Ive seen the Disneyland hotel rooms refurbed are lovely - esp liking the headboards that light up etc. But from what I gather, this is a long walk??

PPH is cheaper to book and I think the walk is shorter, but it looks as though the rooms arent qute as nice??

Please help me make my mind up!!!

I can't speak for the DLH but I can say speak for PPH. We just came back sunday from our annual summer stay there. We had a pool level bungalow room and concierge. It was all fantastic! Room was clean, mickey rice krispies waiting in our room for us, chocolate coins were on our pillows. We always have the best time there! Oh and we were able to watch the fireworks from our level (pool is on a roof top), and the music was playing as well. It was a great time!

You can walk out the front of PPH and cross the street to GCH. Walk through to DCA, or cut across to DTD to DL. It's literally minutes to get to either.

I hope this helps a little bit at least. lol. I know I can't compare, but hopefully knowing a little bit about PPH can help you in your decision =)

We will be staying at DLH on our next visit. After that I can compare the 2! lol. Hope you have fun on your trip! No matter where you stay!

We stayed at DLH in May and the room was lovely, we were in the farthest back building the wonder tower, and I thought the walk was a bit much especially at the end of the day with three tired kids!

I've never stayed at DLH but stayed for the first time at PP a few weeks ago and it was AWESOME!! We had the best time.
The walk is very short, rooms are nice, bright and roomy and the pool and slide are lots of fun.
I can't wait to go back to PP!

The Dobies much prefer the PP to the DLH. The walk is much closer, the rooms are bright and cheerful, the front desk is way more efficient, and since you will only be there for one night, you would probably not take advantage of the DLH's more deluxe pool complex (which is under construction anyway.)

I personally prefer DLH. I love going to bed at night with those magical and lovely headboards playing. And the walk really isnt long at all. Maybe 5 minutes at most. I hope you all have a fabulous time.:goodvibes:

The hot tubs at DLH and PPH are lukewarm. I didn't really care for that, but the stay at both places was nice.

I agree that for a short trip, I'd go with the PPH. It's hard to justify more $ and a longer walk to/from for the DLH in those circumstances. In a longer, more relaxed trip with more time to enjoy the DLH's amenities, I'd pick DLH.

Thanks so much for all the opinions! Whilst I was leaning towards PPH due to price and proximity - in the end, I couldnt resist the lure of the DLH because of the cool headboards/refurbed room. Sad I know!!! Thanks everyone :goodvibes
