Can someone tell me more about the Paradise Palms townhome community? I fond a 4 bedroom rental with a private pool for a VERY inexpensive nightly rate. Almost too good to be true....so I'm wondering, is it? What kind of an area is it in?

I need a REALLY good reason to talk my husband into driving the car and parking every day at the parks vs. paying much more $ to stay on site and use Disney transportation....our kids are older now, 14 and 12 so all of the little kid "flair" of the Disney hotels isn't so important as it once was.

We booked a place for our upcoming 2 week trip in June! This will be our first time here and what sold me was the great rate as well as all the amenities at the resort. I have researched this place to know its pretty new. I have also read that anyone who rents here tend to become repeat customers. We have stayed 2x at Windsor Hills, but I like the idea of staying somewhere a little newer.

We will be going to PP for the second time in June. I have stayed at a lot of places in Kissimmee including the Marriott resorts Harbour Lake, Cypress Harbour, and Grande Vista, Mystic Dunes, Legacy Vacation Club, etc. None of them compared to PP, the size of the units alone is really incredible. And the whole resort pool area is just really nice and the private pool was very private. My kids are also old enough we feel they need their own rooms (boy and girl).

Plus whoever designed the resort put the clubhouse/resort pool right in the middle, so you can walk to the clubhouse from any of the homes.

If you work the numbers, are you sure you are not coming out ahead just by having your own kitchen? We got really used to being able to make a bowl of cereal or frozen waffles, then hit the parks for rope drop. Plus we take breaks and come back to the resort, have sandwiches and a nap, then maybe go back to parks and a restaurant. But I do think the eating in helps save a fortune on food expenses. Plus the parking is only $15 a day, free at the water parks.

Paradise Palms is in a quiet area off the west end of 192. There's lots of restaurant within 5 minutes or so on the way to Disney. We don't stay exactly in that area but just to the east of it a little and find the area very nice. There's a Super Target and Super Walmart both within 5 - 7 min in opposite directions from there. The west end of 192 has grown within the last couple of years with lots of new restaurants : Texas Roadhouse, Bonefish Grill, Logan's Roadhouse, Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, Longhorn Steakhouse, Millers Ale House, Applebees along with all the regulars: Red Lobster, Crackerbarrel, TGIFridays, Joe's Crab Shack etc. etc.
