Does anybody have any thoughts on the food here? Is it good and fresh? It shares the large seating area with Boardwalk Pizza, right? Thanks for your help!

My family likes Paradise Garden Grill v much. It is a refreshing break from the usual hamburger/fries/pizza fare typically offered at amusement parks. We like the chicken skewers and the tofu/vegetable skewers the best, and all the sauces are good (though I am most partial to the Tandori-spiced yogurt sauce which is wonderfully tangy). The ground beef skewers come in third and are OK, but we stay away from the grilled steak skewers as those are typically too dry. All skewers (which have a generous portion of protein) come with fluffy rice pilaf, a refreshing cucumber salad and warm pita bread. You can get your sauce on the side if you want to control how much covers your plate. The portions are generous (well for my family anyway - bigger appetites may disagree), and again we appreciate eating a meal that isn't greasy and loaded with fat. Also the atmosphere is relaxing with plenty of shaded seating (no jockeying for a table as can happen during busy times at places like Tomorrowland Terrace). Often there are musicians playing in the gazebo in the center of the garden. All around it is one of our go-to eateries in DCA.

We ate here on our last trip in December and I really enjoyed the food. I cant remember if i had the steak or chicken skewer (but think it was steak) with the Tzatziki.
There was loads of food and it nice to have it served on real plates with real cutlery (as opposed to plastic ones)

I enjoy it a lot and if I am in DCA, make it a point to come over to either to Garden Grill or Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta to eat. The food is well prepared for park standards and the different sauce and protein combos are nice at the Garden Grill. I am partial to the chicken skewers with the Tandoori sauce. The rice pilaf is actually quite good and the plates are huge! Sometimes we split a plate and add extra pita and it is plenty.

As others have said, it is nice to have real plates and silverware instead of plastic and we have always been able to find a nice place to sit. It is very pretty at night when all the popcorn lights are on.

I love the tofu skewers as well, and you can order all of the side sauces if you want to. :) Each thing on the plate had really good flavor, though Disney doesn't always know how to cook rice, so sometimes the rice isn't quite done. Same thing at the Mexican restaurants and at the Lucky Fortune place. But the flavor is good.

And the pasta/pizza place is delicious, too. They make stuff right there, so they can take requests.

We liked the food here as well but when we went they made up your plate and it looked nice and then they scoop the sauce up and ladle all over everything, which is not how one would usually get this kind of food. Ask for the sauce on the side.

This is great news. We have a large group meeting up in February, with all different budgets and tastes, and I thought this would be a great place for us to meet for a meal. Thanks for the help!!

Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta is right next door. In fact they share the same big eating area outside. My family really likes it too so if you have people in your group that would rather have pizza or pasta, they could still easily meet up with you and each with you. Both places are about as close to sit down service as you can get with a counter services setting.

Yep, we have done this before with a large group. Everyone found something they liked. One in our group even went over to the Corn Dog Castle, which is just a few steps away and had a corn dog. :rotfl:

PGG is delicious, especially if you are looking for an alternative to basic park food (pizza, hot dogs, burgers). I am craving the chicken skewers right now and I feel like you get great bang for your buck here.

Also the music is lovely and the area is very well shaded. I never have to fight for a table and often just sit down when walking by for a song or two.

The music was excellent both times i've gone there. My wife and I get the skewers and the kids get kids meals from the pizza/pasta place and it works out great.

We really enjoyed the PGG when we went. It was during that really hot time at the end of September/October and there was lots of shaded seating. They gave use a couple of cups of iced water without us even asking. Thoughtful! We shared the steak skewer and for us the meat was very tender and each piece was easily cut in half as they were large chunks. I asked for 3 of the sauces because I read here you could :goodvibes and we enjoyed each one. Very flavourful. For those that like a drink with your meal you can get beer and I think wine from here and the pasta place next door. There is also one of the beer vendors right by the Swings.

Part of my group ate there (the rest got food from the other restaurants in the area). My mom and I had the chicken with chimichurri sauce, and my brother had the steak with chimichurri sauce. We all loved it, and it was one of our favorite meals of the trip. The only thing I would do differently is order the sauce on the side. They pour it over everything, and while it was good on the rice, it was not good on my pita bread.

Thanks so much for all the replies! I think this place will work best for us. I didn't know they used real plates and silverware. I also didn't know about the music! I knew I would get the answers I needed from you all!

We do it even with our little group of 3! :)

Just watch out that you don't toss the silverware, if you clear your table. (I think we're supposed to let the CMs do it, from how they have swooped on tables as people are getting up...but the first time I ate there it was really deserted, and I wasn't sure, so I cleared my table and just about recycled the ceramic plate, LOL)

We've had a sort of 20s chanteuse-singer music group playing once, and another time a group that was from Peru, I think, that was quite good.
