We have decided to spend our Cozumel day at Paradise Beach.

I understand that there will be as many as 7 ships on Cozumel when we are there. How crazy will it be?
How early should we plan to head down there?

Any and all advice is wanted.:thumbsup2

We had first talked about Chankanaab Park but my teenages liked the look of PB better. We are into going kind-of early and heading back early. (9:00 to leave??? 2:00 to return???)

I'm not sure how the beach will be, but when we docked in Cozumel this past March we were one of 8 ships there that day. 4 ships (DCL, NCL and 2 Princess ships) were docked in one area, and the other 4 (2 RCCL, 2 Carnival) were docked down the coast at another spot. We only went walking around a little bit while we were there, but there were tons of people walking around. Most stores were packed and the streets/sidewalks were filled with people. The beach might not be too bad, but I wouldn't have a clue :rotfl:

Thank you for your input. Maybe others will know more about PB. I think that 7 - 8 ships a day is common now. Since there were no major storms this past season I am guessing that it is still improving from the past damage 04-06.

When we were there, they had just recently opened up after Hurricane Wilma. They, and another few beaches, were basically the only game in town, and it wasn't overly crowded at all. Because there were so few beaches open, we were expecting it to be mobbed. Not so.

I can't really help you with the "how crowded will it be with x ships in port" part of your question, but I just wanted to add that PB is wonderful. Even with the chaos of Hurricane Wilma, the service was top-notch. The beach's owner, Tom, is onsite and will personally see that your visit is everything you'd expect it to be. He will make sure your group has chairs and anything else you need. He's great.

You'll love Paradise Beach!

I hear that PB gets very crowded when that many ships are in port. But since you have teens, they may like that. We chose Nachi Cocum :worship: last time we were in Cozumel in November and it was awesome! Great beach, drinks, food and service. They had a nice big pool and hot tub and offer massages.

Less crowded :cool1: and we all had a great time. I was there w/ my DH (34, me 31) DD 9 and 3, sister 17, mom 54, and friend 23. All of us are ready to go back to that resort. Reservations need to be made in advance through Island Marketing.

Can you tell me how you find out how many ships are in port the same day? The search hasn't worked for me in days, and we planned on doing Paradise beach also.

THANKS SO MUCH

I don't know if you are traveling with kids -- but my 2 DS's loved this beach! We had an awesome day. They are teens so they had a great time of the water toys and they snorkled as well. The food was good to:banana:

Have a great time!

Does anyone know if you are allowed to bring a soft sided cooler with water and snacks into PB? Thanks!

**it looks like a beautiful beach - can't wait:goodvibes

My family and I went to Paradise Beach last year and we absolutely loved it!! The beach was clean (as were the bathrooms!) and the staff was super friendly. And the food-well, let's just say we are STILL talking about the food & drinks to this day. It was that good. My family and I swam, sunbathed, ate, drank, ate some more and just had a plain good 'ole time! The staff was just great & the beach was beautiful! Dh and I are going back to Cozumel in October 2008 and we are definitely going back to Paradise Beach!
I think you will have a fantastic time. I know there is a website-do a Google search and I'm sure you'll find lots of information on what you are looking for!

We went to PB on a Disney excursion in '05 so we just got on the bus when they said to (sorry I don't remember what time) and I think there were a section of beach loungers set aside just for us so it didn't matter if the beach was crowded. We were still going to get a chair. '05 cruisers: do I remember this correctly?

My DS12 was bored but DD7 had a lot of fun and I remember the food and drinks being great.

Thank you all for responding.

One question no one addressed -

We will Do this "on our own".

How fast should we head down there?

New Question - can we use Visa there? and how much cash would we need? I don't want to carry more than we need.
Taxi each way too.

we have 4 ships in port this includes the magic when we are in cozumel in april, should the crowds be crazy that day for pb????

Paradise Beach takes Visa and Mastercard. I just checked on their website for you. If you go to Google and type in Paradise Beach Cozumel, their website will be first. Theyt have a great website. There is a FAQ section that will answer all of your questions. I remember we took a taxi from the docks (the cabs were all waiting) but I cannot remember how much it was to and from PB. I really don't think it was too much. And there will be taxis waiting to return you to the Magic. We were at Paradise Beach early and it wasn't too crowded. But as the day progresses, it will get busy, esp if there are alot of ships and the weather is good. We stayed for about 5-6 hours and had a blast!
