Hi all, we have decided to book a short 1 night 2 day break to celebrate birthdays in march but looking at the events schedule it seems as if there is nothing much going on! Obviously it's cheap so not expecting too much but after going for halloween in october I'm a bit concerned that it may be a bit disappointing :confused3
the date we had in mind was the 10th march, everything either seems to be finishing before then and nothing else starts till april. Does anyone have any idea what is going on at that time?
I phoned and spoke to a cm who seemed to think there was all sorts inc fireworks happening, but to be honest he seemed a bit clueless!!
Anyone have any info about march to share!!
thanks. x

i woud check the dates of the st davids day welsh festival as there will be fireworks for that. on dlrp magic it says that this is from the 6th to the 8th. there will be the main ouad parade. other than that im afraid you are right a lot finishes on the 8th. could you move your trip a few days? i was there for halloween last year and i would be a bit disapoited too to be honest

You're quite right, the 15th Anniversary celebrations end on the 7th and Mickey's Magical Party starts late in March. The fireworks he mentioned would be for either St. David Day Festival, the first weekend of March or St. Patrick's Day on the 17th.
There will be the OUAD parade once a day but I'm afraid that's about it. The new Stars n Cars thing starts in April in WDS as does HSM.
So it's going to be a quiet time, suits me perfectly, it's exactly what I want, we want to be able to ride without long queues, take our time in the park and we've a lot to do in the Studios but agree you may find it a little disappointing after seeing it at Halloween.
On the plus side there are hardly any ride closures during our stay 12th - 16th, and none that are closed for the entire stay.
:)

Also may get some sneak previews of the new events.

Thanks, I'm sure the kids will still enjoy it but I think i might move the dates slightly just to be sure!
The only other date i can go though is 1st march, looking at the french school holiday dates i think maybe some of the schools are on holiday then. I'm not sure though, if anyone is better at translating the french holidays page feel free to correct me!! Has anyone been during the french school hols? Does it make a huge impact on the crowds? I know it will be busier than our original dates as we will arrive on a sunday but don't want to spend hours in queues as we only have two days.
Sorry about all the questions, thanks for all your help guys! :flower3:

hi i was going to go the week of the 1st march but changed because of the school holidays. i wouldnt want to put you off but if it were between having the 15th celebrations or having a quiet park i would pick the quiet park. especially if you only have two days. having said that i havent actually been in the park during the holidays so maybe someone can help with waiting times.

One more quick question
My girls are AVID autograph hunters! Will there be as many characters roaming the park seeing as it's out of season?
If we don't get Minnie's autograph and a hug for my 5 year old we will probably have tears for weeks! (She is slightly obsessed!)

well you wont have the character express after the 7th. although minnie isnt on this. there are still scheduled meet and greets and you could always do a charater meal although you wouldnt know which characters are inside.

There is often the same amount and off peak it's easier to see them...you'll end up thinking you see more.

In October Kacee spent 5 minutes with Mickey Mouse in the Studios without anyone else around and that was at 3 in the afternoon!!

yep gonna be spending a lot of my time in the studios this time around

The character interaction is far better in quiet times, we've had some of our best/funniest moments during the quiet periods when we've come across characters wandering around the Park without mobs of kids and pushy parents surrounding them.

Not very good quality pics I'm afraid because they're scanned, but you can see what I mean. :)

You'll definitely be able to see Minnie in the Studios at her Meet n Greet I'd imagine.

I think i may stick with my original dates and go on the 10th. the characters and autographs are my kids main thing when we go. It will be nice to be able to see them and not get pushed and shoved out of the way!!
Those photos are great, thanks, we have no pics with the characters on their own as we have always been in peak season!
Thanks once again to you all for helping me make my mind up. :thumbsup2 x
