Parade Viewing locations, interesting observation

I noticed, that in DLP, they allow people much more flexibility in finding parade viewing locations, than they allow in either California DL or WDW.
At first, I hesitated to climb over the ropes to settle down on the lawn, fully expecting a CM to come by and tell the people to move. However, eventually I climbed over a barrier, and joined other people in the shade, on a hill, in the bushes. It was in the shade, and had a good view.
There were sticker bushes, which someone who spoke no English was kind enough to point out to me.
Otherwise, it was an ideal viewing location.

eileen,

where is the best place in the disneyland park to watch the parade?

ps. what is the 'free' breakfast like at the movenpick (vienna dream castle)

I never know whats the best place for the parades ,last time I saved a place on main st while my family went to watch the winnie the pooh show and I had bad time being pushed around.think I will give it a go near small world next time (if it still starts from there) as it sounds a good idea to go on the rides as soon as it passes.

Having only been to DLP for one day, I can not say what the best viewing place is.
I only know that I found a good place, in the shade, sort of on a small hill, near the circle thing called central plaza. I imagine that an elevated position somewhere in town square looking down Main street would be best. But since I did not get such a position, I can not say for sure.

The free breakfast, at the Dream Castle hotel, is pretty good (one of the best I have ever seen as included with hotel price). It had multiple types of eggs (scrambled, boiled, and some sort of fried rolled up thing which was pretty good). There were potatoes, all sorts of breads and cereals, rolled meats and cheeses, juices, mixes for chocolate milk, hot milk, cold milk, coffee, all sorts of fruit, yogurts, salad and more.

I don't think that it is more flexible in DLP... I think it is because in France... following rules is a problem so with or without signs, people will climb on hills etc...

We tend to look at signs here and obey them.

Most Europeans do obey these signs too but there is also a big number of visitors who don’t. And I can’t understand why. :smooth:

Eileen if everybody would climb over the ropes try to imagine how the meadows would look like. The park would look like a cheep garden and not like a Disneyland. :guilty:

When we were there on a very crowded Saturday this June we even saw a women with her son picnicking at the meadows near the castle and having there feeds in the pound of the castle. And when a CM came and asked them to leave they acted like “What do you want, we paid the entrance fee and now we can do here whatever we want.” :furious: :sad2:

I would wish that the CM’s would act more strictly and take visitors away from restricted areas.

My favourite location personally is on the corner of Main St just before it circles round in front of City Hall. I did get a nice seat in the little theatre near the castle on one occasion and it did mean I got a nice sit down which was very welcome but I didn't feel the photos I got there were as good for some reason.
