I know the parade is being taped tomorrow (12/6) - but the call for extras was dated for the parade on 12/7.

We don't get to the parks until Sunday - will we see anything?

Thanks!

Doing the "TGIF" B4 my trip to WDW!!!!! :)

How do you get choosen to be an extra? My dd and I will be at the park tomorrow bright and early in our best Disney Christmas gear.

The actual parade taping is Dec 6. They are taping celebrity spots on Dec 7. A friend was there yesterday, she said the review stand for Regis & Kelly is by Caseys.

Anyone know when it will air on TV? Last year it was on ABC on Christmas morning.

From what I understand they always try to tape the first weekend in Dec...for the major portions....Last Weekend there were a group of stars that did remotes....ie Star Jones, etc... and they entire parade is then put together for the Christmas morning show...

We saw the taping last year and loved it....looks like they move Regis and Kelly's booth...last year it was next to the Hub....

Yes, the taping began on December 5th and ends on December 7th. I believe they are only taping fill in segments on the 7th, though.

Yes, we are at the world and they did tape yesterday. It was interesting seeing the production it takes to get this parade taped so that it appears to be live. We now know better since we will quite possibly see ourselves on TV christmas morning.
They did several takes of several of the scenes mostly because they wanted the sun out. They started taping early and there was no sunso they retaped most of it because of that. We were in the crowd of people that they kept moving all over, all I can say is that if you want to be a part of this on the morning they tape you need to be dressed in christmas type attire, we had bought Santa Mickey shirts for all four of us and we got onsumed into the group of people that was being moved from Zone to Zone.

We also saw Regis taping portions of his show as well. We never did see Kelly so I am not sure they are done taping. I know that they had cameras and everything at the train station end of Main Street. They tore all of that down after they were done taping last evening. They however had not struck any of the equipment around where Regis' stand was, unless they tore them down after hours this morning. It was really cool though and they ran the whole Christmas Parade at 5:00 in its entirety.

It was really amazing how they make it look like there is a 100 thousand people there when there was really not that many standing and watching. Later in the day my youngest daughter saw some the actors from Totally Raven in Space mountain and one of them was in the same car with us. For my DD (12) that was pretty cool.

Well that is about it. Hopefully this gives you all some updated information.

We too were their Saturday for the taping and also think we made it on the film(we will find out Dec 25th) Also dressed in Disney Christmas gear we had our Tigger and Pooh hats on. I heard that they were trying to still get Kelly in for her filming with Regis. Due to the storm she was not able to make it in as scheduled. That is most likely why they still had the sleigh set in place next to the corner for the Crystal Palace. A cast member told us they would film their part as if the parade was passing by, but in reality it would be on film. The tricks of the big screen:). We had a blast and DD 11 got autographs of several of the perfomers including Raven. Made her day as well as mine.

They were still taping the parade on Sunday. Kelly got in Sat night and she and Regis taped their parts. It was fun to watch, but it is a loooonnngg day as they have to keep repeating parts of the parade in segments.

We also saw Raven over by Mickey's Philharmagic. To tape about a 10 second spot it took about 45 minutes. DD's 13 & 8 were in the scene so they will be watching Christmas morning. They also got their picture taken with Kelly by the Castle, so it was an exciting Disney Day for them.

We attended the taping on the 6th as well. My two DDs were able to sit on the curb of Main street within 4 feet of their favorite music group Jump 5 as they did three takes of their song from Brother Bear. They were EXTREMELY happy about this. Also saw Clay Aiken up close as well.

Question - is there anyway to find out who is scheduled to be in the parade and on what days they would be taping? We left after Jump5 did their performance to do some rides. We might have stayed longer if we knew Raven or Hillary Duff would possible be there.

Uh oh! Does it get crowded during the filming time? I have a trip planned 4 next december, and i want to know if it gets crowded during the early days of december....

oh no! :earseek:

disneyluver91 - In general, the crowds are generally low during early Dec. The park that gets crowded is MK on Saturdays - sometimes that's the only day that has the evening parade and fireworks as part of the general admission. Throughout the week MK is often closed to the general public in the evenings for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, a separate ticketed event.

On parade filming day, it's very crowded along Main Street where most of the action occurs. Once you get away from Main Street, the rest of the park isn't too bad.
