Just an update on this.
We did this last weekend and enjoyed it much more than the Electric Parade package. First, the food was actually decent. The beef was generally tender and well done. The carrots, onions and mashed potatoes were good, but the brussel sprouts were unpleasant. Kind of risky to have that on the menu since they are generally difficult to cook well.
We really enjoyed the parade. It ended up being our best experience of the trip and I highly recommend it. They say they do not seat for the viewing area until 30 minutes prior to the parade. We lined up by the flagpole about 35 mins before they let people in and were pretty far back in line. It's unknown when the people in the front started their wait. We could not get a spot on the curb but no worries because there was plenty of standing room available. Compared to the Electric Parade, it was a lot less crowded which it so much more enjoyable. There may have been a handful of people standing as most were seated on the curb and the others were seated on the railings further back from the curb.
Overall, it was a great experience. Before the parade, there was a brass quintet playing Christmas songs. And, you really can't beat the main street hub as the setting for the parade to get you in the spirit.
