Parade & Firework viewing tips please!

Hello!

Just wondering if anyone has a few great tips to share for parades and fireworks. We are rope drop people and my kids are young so we really don't stay often to view either. We stayed once for Wishes and it was a mad house (stampede like!) getting out of the park - not fun. I would love to stay for Wishes again and we have yet to see Illuminations. Hoping to see both on our next trip. Also, anyone have any tips for best parade viewing areas? I know the hub is the best but I can't commit to arriving an hour prior to the parade. Is it worth using a fastpass? TIA
