I did the un-cool Mom thing and cleaned my 6 yo room this morning. It was pretty clean but I threw away all the little scraps of paper he keeps. Found all the misc. toys that are missing pieces and removed them from the room. Organized things so he can find them.

Does your child's clutter drive you nuts???? Or is it just me???????

btw-To all the NE Ohio DIS'ers....if you hear screaming and crying coming from the Akron area, don't worry, it's just my son! ;)

Oh yes.....I did that one year when dd was at Girl Scout camp (she was 6 hours away) and it felt oh so good!!!! She didn't give me as much trouble as she did the year we moved from my dad's house (or were getting ready to) to our house with dh - I got the "You threw out all my memories!!!!" screaming and kicking routine!!!! I know it wasn't funny but my gosh...I couldn't help but laugh. I mean I threw out gum wrappers, candy wrappers, stuff that was just plain dumb to keep!!!!! I still laugh when I think about that cleaning fiasco!!!!

My 9yo ds is the ULTIMATE pack rat. He saves candy wrappers, scraps of paper, those little plastic clippies that keep dress shirts folded in their bags, and on and on and on. He comes by it honestly -- my dmom is such a hideous pack rat that I keep telling her I'm not going to clean out her house when she dies, I'm just going to set fire to it.

LOL! My youngest is quite the packrat! Everytime I open junk mail and proceed to pitch.....she says, "do you need that mom?" If I say no, she runs like a squirrel saving for the winter to her room with it! About once a week, I take a trash bag into her room and pick up the scraps of paper she has drawn on or candy wrappers laying in a drawer/box. I have found acorns (hence the squirrel comparison), rocks, etc. Heaven forbid I look under her bed. Yikes! About once a month I have started pulling everything out, so it's not such a chore!!
