Pantyhose, tights or bare legs?

These are what I had in mind when defining tights as being made from a heavy knit.

IMO, comparing hose/panyhose with tights is the same as comparing apples and oranges.

The model in this photo looks adorable in tights, very "put together", that stated, I could not see her wearing this outfit with sheer hose.

I also could not picture her wearing a dress or a skirt with those tights. IMO, the look would seem too "childish"!

I'm in the sheer(they can have color) pantyhose/hose camp(when wearing dresses/skirts in cold(er) weather) because I have fabulous legs! ;)

You posted a picture of a woman in black panty hose :confused3

They are clearly not a "heavy knit" . They are sheer, you can clearly see through to her leg.

I'm not seeing what is put together here? She's wearing a slouchy poorly fitted sweater and a pair of WAY too short, short-shorts. The sort of thing one would only wear around home.

Maybe slouchy, poorly-fitting sweaters and too-short shorts are fashionable, and the pantyhose brigade just doesn't know it? :rotfl:

I referenced that photo, I didn't post it.

I think ZZ Top had a song Fool For Your Stockings, being a man I'm just sayn':rolleyes1

THESE were the office HIT though! I wore mine one day and by the end of the week, the receptionist and the accounting manager had gone and bought the same pair in a different color.

I've got to comment on this. You wore THOSE and have a problem with panty hose. :rotfl: I'm sure they are very fashionable. It looks like I am not.

I would also consider those hose and not tights, because they are sheer. You can see the leg. Also these patterned hose were popular in the mid to late 80s (when I was a kid) so I wouldn't be wearing them now. I didn't like them back then and I don't like them now - I think they make you look like you have a skin disease on your leg. :rotfl:

Can you imagine wearing those to a job interview? Or how about Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama wearing them to a state dinner?

i go either bare legs, leggings or tights (footless or footed). i love patterned tights like these

i also like coloured tights. i have purple ones and im planning on getting red, orange, and blue.

I agree! I was thinking, wait a minute those are black "nylons",as I call them.

Is it a color vs nude/beige thing?

i always thought hose were really really thin. tights have a higher denier.

Yeah - those would be the (thigh-high) stockings referenced by a couple of recent posters... and "appreciated" by each woman's respective boyfriend ;)

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

She didn't post the picture. Angelhalo posted the picture, Alley quoted her post and commented on the picture.

She did indeed post the picture. You'll note it says "These" not "that picture that Angelhalo posted way back". She picked it up and included it in her own post, she did not reference it.

You are also kind of missing the point of the thread as well.
