Has anyone else started panicking about the resort they picked when they are only a few weeks out?! I have only a 11 days left and now I am completely obsessed about having made a mistake with the hotel we picked for our vacation. I was fine several months ago. But now, as it gets closer, I keep reading all the reviews on here, on Passporter, on travelocity and I keep getting hung up on the bad reviews. I know bad reviews are everywhere, but now I am really nervous. Someone please tell me we are going to like POFQ. Did I make a mistake? Should I try to switch it? Aghh!! I am driving myself crazy. Has anyone else done this, or am I crazy on my own! :rotfl2:

I haven't been since 07...but DH and I loved POFQ when we were there on our honeymoon.

The resort is really compact, so it will be easy to walk everywhere. The bus service was great. The pool has a fun theme for your kids. The resort was always clean and the CM's were wonderful.

We also went around the same time you'll be there.

Have a great time! :)

POFQ is our favorite resort....relax, it will be fine!

We love the same size of the resort, the theming, and the boat transportation to DTD. We have always found the CMs to be friendly and helpful.

We have found the bus transportation to be very good. You may share with POR during "slow" times...like mid-afternoon, bit not during busy AM times.

We also like POFQ's central location...it is a short ride to 3 of 4 parks.

Oh...don't forget to try the pina colava at the bar!

You didn't make a mistake. Keep your reservation. POFQ is a beautiful and quaint resort. It's our favorite resort. It's a very lovely resort. Enjoy the relaxing boat ride to DTD. Take a lovely stroll along the river to POR and take the boat on your way back. You are welcome to use POR's ammenities. I love the pool at POFQ, it's very kid friendly. Enjoy your stay there!!

I also loved staying at POFQ- beautiful grounds and landscaping that made such a nice break from the energy of the parks, lovely comfortable rooms, a good food court, excellent bus service plus a boat ride to Downtown Disney, and a great pool- what's not to love?! My daughter loved the pool, the fountains, and the bunnies and lizards. When we switched over to CBR near the end of our trip, we all missed POFQ and wanted to go back! Nothing is perfect- as long as you are looking for what is right about POFQ, you will find plenty to make you happy! I, too, have obsessed on a few bad reviews at a resort we were going to stay at, and when we got there is was lovely! So take a deep breath, resist looking at the reviews, and focus on the positive. Decide to have a magical trip, and you will!

I laugh at the "bad" reviews about Disney resorts. I have stayed in just about every Disney resort and never had a bad room. You'll be fine and in the remote possibility you think French Quarter is "bad", just tell the front desk (actually physically go to the front desk if it's really bad), and it will be dealt with.

While I can't comment on POFQ, having never stayed there, I will say I always obsesse over my resort choice and even just changed, I think it's pretty normal.

POFQ is our favorite resort as well. You will love it! We love the size, the atmosphere, the pool and the friendly, helpful CMs. The food court is great and the boat to DTD is a huge plus! We also like that there is only one bus stop and the resort is small enough that you never have a huge walk to get to it (or the food court). Also, within walking distance is POR where there are options for water vehicles as well as a ts restaurant and carriage rides. In fact, I wish I were there right now! Have a great time!

Stop reading reviews! LOL! You will love POFQ. We have never stayed there, only at POR but we have walked the grounds and eaten at their food court a few times. Plus the boat ride to DD is so great. It's smaller which is good. Recently refurbished. Plus you will be in DISNEY. nuff said? They will do everything in their power to make you have a magical vacation. If you stop stressing you will enjoy it more, trust me.

We stayed at PO about 3 years ago and loved it. The landscaping was amazing and it kept it feeling very quiet which was what we wanted. You didn't make a mistake at all. The only advice I can offer is that disney buses could take up to 40 minutes to get you to a destination from there (20 mins to wait, 20 mins there) so plan that.

It doesn't matter where we are staying -- I always 2nd guess myself and worry that it was the wrong choice! I think it's pretty common for us planners. :rotfl:

STOP the insanity LOL!!!!

I do the same thing, every single trip I second guess my choice of resort, choice of ADRs, choice of DATES - it's cuz there are way too many choices!

I'm doing the same thing right now - we are booked for 11/19- 11/24 and I've already booked airfare, but here I am trying to figure out a way to change it to 11/21 - 11/27. We are booked at BWI, but not 100% sure I want to stay there again, even though it is a lovely resort.

Just try to relax. Take a deep breath and stop reading reviews. Stop second guessing yourself. You did the research and booked what looked the most appealing to you. Now go and start obsessing about what you are going to pack!!:rotfl2:

I am feeling the same way! I have been to DisneyWorld many times over the years, but have never stayed on property. My husband and I are taking a last minute vacation to Florida and decided to spend the first two days at Disney, with no kids, just the two of us. We are booked at POFQ beginning May 18th. After discovering DISboards and reading so much over the last couple of weeks I am so worried I've made the wrong resort choice! Everyone has different opinions about which resort is their favorite and they all seem to have good reasons for their opinions. I mean, I've never had a bad time at Disney parks, I LOVE them, so I'm sure the POFQ will be fine, but I'm still having some "buyer's remorse" wondering if a different resort would be a better choice. Silly I know!

Thank you for making me feel better!!! It think it is just so close now....finally!! And I have spent so much time planning, I just want it to be great. There is nothing else left to do but worry! :) Thank you for your help and making me feel better about POFQ. Can't believe it is only a few days away!!

POFQ ia awesome, you will love it...relaxing boat ride to Downtown Disney, great performer in the lounge, pretty grounds, nice pool. What is NOT to love????

Stop worrying! I stayed there in March with my DD, her DH and my DGD. I'm a DVC owner and this was my first time EVER staying at a moderate. It was fine. Room was spotless, food court was good, transportation was no different than any deluxe I've stayed at and better in some ways that BWV, my favorite hotel. The grounds were beautiful and the pool was very nice. With the river, it's very tranquil and really quite quiet, even with lots of people and kids there.

My only two negatives--one isn't fixable--I don't like outside hotel doors. I missed having a balcony. The other--the boat to DTD either wasn't running because of weather or was so full with people from POR it was difficult to get on. I wish they would run their own boat when it's busy.

My response to this question is always the same. If I had paid attention to all the bad reviews I've read about all the resorts we have stayed at, we would have missed out on many fantastic WDW memories. We would not have stayed at any of them because I have read negative reports on all of them.

We have never been disappointed in any of them, including POFQ. I love the theme, it's compact, and it's an easy walk to POR. Or take a boat or bus there and enjoy what it has to offer. And it has the boat ride to DTD and back.

POFQ is lovely. Don't forget to head over to POR and check out Piano Bob though... :)

The thing to keep in mind too is that people are much more likely to post negative reviews of things than positive reviews.
