I always second guess myself too. I've stayed onsite 3 times and loved all of my choices (and one of them was POFQ). Relax, you'll have a great time!

My response to this question is always the same. If I had paid attention to all the bad reviews I've read about all the resorts we have stayed at, we would have missed out on many fantastic WDW memories. We would not have stayed at any of them because I have read negative reports on all of them.

We have never been disappointed in any of them, including POFQ. I love the theme, it's compact, and it's an easy walk to POR. Or take a boat or bus there and enjoy what it has to offer. And it has the boat ride to DTD and back.

The thing to keep in mind too is that people are much more likely to post negative reviews of things than positive reviews.

STOP READING THE REVIEWS!
There are bad reviews about every single thing on the Disney property (even V&A has some bad reviews). There's always someone who is unhappy with what they received. Keep in mind that Disney is run by people, and people make mistakes.
I've never stayed at POFQ, but it's next on my list of Moderates, because I love the theming and it's more compact that the others. I always worry about my choices, but they've always turned out perfectly lovely. I've had my own complaints, but I don't expect my personal experience to have any effect on the experience of others.

I've never been there either, just POR, but plan to get there some day. It is next on my list (after this trip to BC) and that is in part because of all the GREAT reviews I have read on it.

Have you read the Port Orleans specific thread? Tons of people raving about the PO resorts.

Try not to spend your time worrying- focus on being excited!!!!! Have fun!

Don't panic!

I think people put way too much pressure on themselves by trying to have the "perfect" vacation. I'll let you in on a little secret - it's not going to perfect no matter how much you plan or how much you worry. Things happen. It's how you handle the hiccups that make or break your trip.

You made your decision based on what would work best for your family. Your family hasn't changed, so why should your resort choice?

The best advice I can give you is to relax and enjoy your trip - hiccups and all. Some of my best trips were the ones where it seemed like things were going to go awry - but just turned in a way I didn't expect.

I think you'll love it! As previous poster said:

Grounds are lovely and you will feel at rest at this resort.
Food court is good buy not overly large. Food Court at POR is very large and short walk.
Pool slide is a blast and you can also use the pool at POR.
Great walking and jogging trails between POR and POFQ.
The boat to DTD is a bonus.
Piano Bar at POR is a short walk away and a blast for the whole family.

We have stayed At Poly, Beach Club Villas, Wilderness Lodge and Villas, Animal Kingdom Lodge and Villas, All Stars, Pop Century and Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter and Coronado Springs.

I still love Port Orleans it is one of my favorite resorts.

As everyone else said, don't panic!! POFQ is my favorite resort to stay.. I was actually just booked there for my sept trip and because of the room discount, I switched to a royal guest room at Riverside... had I not gotten such a great deal, I would've stayed at POFQ. I have read more good than bad reviews and those don't really make up my mind because there are mishaps once in a while, it happens.

More people are likely to complain about the negative wayyy more than the good, so don't let it freak you out. I think you will love it! It is much smaller than the other moderates, so walking to anything is going to be quick and easy! The grounds and buildings are so gorgeous and peaceful. The boat to DTD is the best thing there in my opinion.
