From reading here, I gather others have used DU with good results?? I have a quote for a price from them , and it says if any other rebates come up they will notify me. currently there appears to be $100 rebate in my price range. Have also seen posts referring to First Time Cruisers Rebate.... does DU offer that also or is that from DCL? And can you get both?

I have a stateroom on hold thru AAA thru today, but DU sounds like a better deal... need the extra info before I cancel AAA. Also, does anyone know how the insurance works? Can you cancel anytime up to a certain date and get your whole deposit back, or does it have to be for one of their "covered" reasons (medical etc?).

Does anyone know a DU phone number that I can call with questions instead of using e-mail? There wasnt' a number with my quote that I got.

THanks!!

You can call 888-374-0494. :)

I can answer your questions as well; the rebate on your cruise price comes from Dreams and the first time cruiser credit comes from DCL. Dreams will add the credit to your reservation once you book and let them know you are a first-time cruiser.

You can cancel your reservation without any penalty any time up to 60 days before your trip, when the final payment is due.

Hope that helps! :)

You should be able to get both the DU rebate and the First Time Cruiser credit. The rebate is given by DU is you book by a certain date and the First Time Cruiser is given by Disney and is an onboard credit.

Not sure about how the insurance works, but it's my understanding that you can get your deposit back anytime if you cancel before 60 days. Insurance only comes into play when there's less than 60 days before your cruise and you'd have all your cuise paid for, not just your deposit.

DU's # is 888-374-0494.

Can I ask what the "rebate" is that DU is able to offer? How does that work? Are they cutting their commission to get people to book with them....
Just wondered! Thanks!

I am wondering if the DCL trip insurance is refundable if you cancel before the 60 day mark? I purchased 3rd party trip insurance through Access America and it is not refundable.

The reason I purchased it when making my deposit (so far in advance) is because there are sevaral advantages to buying it within 14 days of deposit: 1. The pre-existing medical condition clause is waived. My father is elderly. He is not traveling with us but if he becomes ill I might have to cancel the trip. 2. There is also a terrorism clause, something like (?) if an act of terrorism occurs in my city or my destination city they cover the cost of the trip if I re-book within 30 days. 3. I can't remember the 3rd clause, I was mainly interested in the pre-existing medical condition.

If the DCL trip insurance is refundable and includes the pre-existing medical condition stuff I would have used them. The professionals say to use a third party insurance company but I'm not worried about Disney defaulting.

Emily, yes, the rebate is part of the commission that Dreams gets, rebated to you.

Linda, yes, the trip insurance is entirely refundable if you cancel before the 60 day mark. You would get your entire deposit back if you cancel before final payment is due. :)

Thanks Michelle, I should have asked before I booked. I hope I don't have to cancel!
