Pandora - First Visit During the Day or After Dark?

For my next trip, we're planning to visit Pandora on two different days. This will guarantee that we can get fastpasses on both the Navi River attraction and Flight of Passage.

I read previously that both attractions are indoors, so it probably doesn't matter when we ride. However, does anyone have any opinions on whether Pandora is best experienced during the day or at night? I'll probably book both, but curious on which one will reveal and showcase the land at its best.

Thanks in advance!

I'm going twice on my next trip, both times at least after 7:30. It's supposed to be breathtaking at night!

We typically Rope Drop.

Our plan (coming up on my 6-month window) is to Rope Drop first day at AK and instead of leaving at lunch, wonder Pandora to familiarize ourselves with the place.

Then, a few days later, return for a ROL dining package and nighttime FP+ for Pandora.

But to answer your question - seems as if Pandora was designed to be best experienced at night.

Thanks all! I know that we won't really know until it opens, but since I have to make FP+ now, I figured I'd ask the people who are more dialed in to the early news.

I am planning rope drop and then night time too. I would just plan on one of each and use the express bus too, that way you can hop between other parks easy too.

Our first visit to Pandora will be after sunset.

Then we'll visit at some point during the day for comparison.

To be honest AK is our favourite park to be in at night - when PM EMH stopped we were bummed. The ambiance after dark is absolutely amazing.

We have one AK day planned. We will very likely be in Pandora first thing in the morning to do one of the rides standby at Rope Drop. We will then return to Pandora in the evening to (hopefully) go on the second ride using FP+ and experience the land after dark.

I'm going to Animal Kingdom on arrival night, FP for Flight of Passage and to see Rivers of Light. Then I'm going to do a 7am EMH later in the trip.

One morning and one night. Two days to secure FP+ for both new headliners with Flight of Passage during the day and River Jounrey at night.

after watching the previews on tv it all looked like you'll need to see it both day and night to see the different aspects of the area. 1 example is the flying mountains you won't see all the features at night

We are doing it twice in the morning and twice at night for our June trip.

I have a question about EMH at Animal Kingdom. Will you need to be onsite to explore Pandora or just to ride the rides? I am wondering if they will be not allowing anyone into Pandora unlike at other parks where the entire park is open during EMH.

Confused as EMH are for on site guests only.
If you mean, will Pandora be open to EMH guests, I am not sure but touring plans says yes and you must be an on site guest in order to experience EMH

EDIT, found updated info were you must be 44" for flights of passage so that answers my question for the most part.
I have my own question about these new rides, that may not be able to be answered yet...
I have 13 people from 1yr old on up and some are not thrill riders, would either one of the new rides be better or not a good idea??
I'm not sure if I should book all FP+ for each or split them both both which would be better if the rides are not really for small children.
TIA

For PM EMH, everyone can remain in the park. Only on site guests can enter rides (they check bands/cards) to verify on site, but off site guests aren't forced to leave. For AM EMH, only on site guests can get into the park early.

As far as your question, if some in your group aren't thrill riders, then I would book the River ride

I'd imagine everyone. I doubt they'll have CM's stationed every night at entrances to Pandora to verify on site guests.

Cant wait to hear some reviews. I wonder if Flight of Passage will mess with my fear of heights :crazy2:. I love Soarin and am fine on it so I hope it will be about the same. We plan on going 2 days at night.
