I found out about this event on the boards, I didn't get an email or notice of any kind. We have 3 Platinum Plus Passes in the family so I'm wondering if there was some kind of lottery for this event email?

The event is at capacity so no chance of getting in now, this is more for my own curiosity

it was first announced by all major fan sites about 9am. People started getting the invitation emails later in the day, so by the time some got the emails it was already booked up.
For example I heard about it from a disney fan site, booked at 9:30am, got the email around 1pm with the invite. Disney's email system is notoriously bad and not all inclusive

Not everyone got emails due to disneys email system being terrible. I never got an email but I signed up. Wife got an email around noon, about 3 hours after I signed us up

I never received an email from Disney, but did get an email first from Kenny The Pirate's newsletter and then about 1 hour later from Disney Food Blog's newsletter.

i've been chasing down how to get emails for months and still no luck. I have some phone conferences with disney execs to discuss this more later in the week so hopefully it'll eventually just get fixed for everyone..

now, call up and complain to them you didn't get any email or notice. they do have some slots but you have to speak up and contact them and that's how I got it. (well I got it but I didn't mention and got a better slot).

As mentioned by someone else, getting emails and notification from the various blog sites will really help you find out these special options that sell out quick much better than disney lets people know.

I agree. I found out from a non-Disney website, went in and booked it, and got my confirmation email at the same time as the email from Disney telling me it was available. I get some AP emails from Disney, and some I don't, so I rely more on the fan community to keep me up to date than on Disney.

I do wonder though if the fact that I already had a resort reservation for that week is why I got the email? Could they have prioritized AP holders who would be staying there first, and then other AP holders? I know there are hundreds more AP holders than they had slots for, so they must have had some random way of sending out the emails, and they may have stopped the emails when the slots were full which would explain why not everyone received one. They also may not have taken into account how quickly the news would spread online and how many people would sign up that way.

I was wondering this myself, maybe not for the same week but anyone with a reservation in the system.

We have a reservation in April but not a reservation in May. Fiance has a FL resident Platinum Plus AP and got his email at about 9am, I'm non-resident regular Platinum and got mine at 10:30. I wonder what type of pass does everyone have?

OR how many on here that did NOT get an email are also LOCAL AP holders? Could it be it went to folks who would make a trip out of it and book hotel rooms? AP holders that travel from afar and commit days in a hotel, restaurants etc aka cash.

We have three APs. I am the only one who got the email. I am the also only one who has ever booked a Disney hotel. Why was I targeted and not the other two - who are also very much adults?

Maybe, try to spread out crowds and fill up the place just before (which I can see being very empty because many would find a way to wait another few weeks or a month to see it). It might also be prioritized where the APs they think would make more money to the least and I'm so far down the list that I just won't see it because it's always full by the time it reaches me.

At the same time, I have the attention of some important people at disney and talking with them so maybe it's just a broken system that is in disrepair or ignored as something separate from MDE but should be getting data from MDE and not it's own system.

I'm a local ap and believe me. Disney loses money with me ;) but I have always got the mickey monitor anf all the emails. I just think their system is screwed up

good point as well, I'm one of those people who would pay for the joe rhode tour of pandora that d23 is doing.

I found out about it here and went and booked it immediately around 9 in the morning Later on in the day I got the email.

I'm a non-resident platinum pass and got my email around 12pm. But I had found out first from Kenny the Pirate and had already registered early that morning.

I did already have a resort reservation from May 13-21, so not sure if that makes a difference. We have 5 platinum AP's and I was the only one to get the email - but I'm the only one who ever books our trips.

Found out here, around 9:30. Was given the AP link to book and did so immediately. I recieved the invitation email around noon, and a confirmation email that evening.

I received my AP email around 9:30 central time, booked and got my confirmation at 11am. I don't have a resort reservation booked at this time, but I will now :)

This is the first year (and probably only) that I have an annual pass. Can some one tell me what to expect with this type of event?

I'm a non resident platinum pass and didn't get the e-mail. My sister in law who is the same as myself got it and notified me and was able to help me sign up. We are part of the group that they're making money off of though as we are making an unexpected 4 day trip out of it. We could definitely use an adults only time away weekend though so kudos to Disney for flashing that in my face lol

I didn't get an email. I found out here. And immediately clicked on the link to register. I had my pick of dates.
I never got the email - saw the post on this site and tried the link without luck - I could not make the link work!! Then I tried thru DVC - I did get that email - no problem getting the date and time
