Panama Planning

Yep understand and for me personally, I would agree, as ''personally' I prefer higher decks. Did too many lower ones on Princess cruises.

I did an outside on a lower deck on Princess about 15 years ago. The waters got so rough that the room steward came into our room at like 3:30 A.M. to seal the portholes. Maybe that is why I do not do outside.

Yep, whilst not that bad, I had an outside, lower deck on on Princess and the waters were rough and close to our windows.

If you were not out drinking all night, no big deal. Unfortunatly I was drinking all night. I was not happy. Of course part of that was my fault for drinking to much.

Pleasantly surprised. I booked a Cat 11 GTY, and was upgraded to a Cat 9, porthole room, floor #1. Room is midship, and there aren't lots of rooms on that floor, so I am presuming it will be a quiet area. I don't mind stairs!

We got the same.. mid ship deck one.. and since we sailed before on this level I can say that its quiet... I loved it.. and am very glad to be back there.. ;)

Some of us got a gty because that was the only thing left on the cruise.. I booked late and was just really glad to have this opportunity.. getting an "upgrade" to a cat 9, even on Deck 1, was just a pleasant surprise.. andt therefore a win win for me all around!

Again congrats on all upgrades, both repos sold out very quickly and both went to GTY within hours of the release, I was lucky that with a good TA on my side I was able to obtain a stateroom number on the first day, DU worked hard for that.

It can lead to a nervous position if you do not have a number, but for the WB all working out now, and thats great.

When I finally managed to get a booking for the WB, exactly one year out from the sailing date, there was very little choice available. We booked a Cat. 9 GTY and were just thrilled to be able to get on the ship. :)

Then at 30 days out, we got our stateroom number. I know many people were hoping for an upgrade, but we got what we paid for and were absolutely delighted. All I really wanted was to have a stateroom with one of the large portholes - and we got one! :thumbsup2

Then DH had an afterthought - he said he would have liked to have had a verandah since this would be a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. I told him that was impossible since everyone had been allocated their rooms. :guilty:

Then yesterday, I noticed a thread here on the Dis saying there were Cat. 4 and 5's available. I went into over-drive, emailed our TA and with many thanks to Kelsie at DU, we managed to secure a Cat. 5!

Excited is not the word I would use to describe DH and I right now! :jumping1:  We're now trying to keep this little secret from DD6 as a surprise! :upsidedow

Well done to you, and Kelsie, she is always great at this and I am very sure you will see the benefit of having that verandah on the Panama cruise, Enjoy and post some pictures!

Thank you, Andrew. I am sure we will manage to put our verandah to good use! Breakfast al fresco, an adult beverage or two in the evening and waving to everyone as we go through the Canal. :goodvibes

Kelsie did an excellent job for us. :thumbsup2 After she replied to my initial request about upgrading, the emails were flying back and forth at an amazing rate of speed until everything was secured! :rotfl:

I promise to post pics once we return to the UK. I am so glad that I will finally have some pics to add to the DCL Pic of the Day thread! :)

You're from the UK? Where abouts?

There are 4 other UK families that I know of on this cruise.

I think you have it all covered, and well thought out, I have to wait a few more months for mine, do enjoy yours it will be a trip of a lifetime.

Kelise is always hardworking, and fast to come back, she is the reason I have a port-side, numbered room from day 1 of booking of the Panama cruise, and also the reason why I have a CAT 3 for 2009.

She has also looked after me for WDW and DLC bookings, and worked hard to swap a WDW booing to the free Disney dinner plan. She hopfully will book all my resturant ressies for DLC soon.

Enjoy, look forward to your pictures and trip report.

We're from the NE of Scotland. :wave2: I do drop in to the Cruise Meet thread now and then, but it moves so fast I can hardly keep up! :rotfl:

I am in planning overdrive at the moment! :hyper: DH thinks I have been surgically attached to the computer! We'll only be in WDW for 1-1/2 days before the cruise and DD6 wants to ride all the rides and see all the shows again. I'm trying to work out a schedule to at least fit in our "must do's." :scared: :rotfl2:

Don't worry, your vacation will be here before you know it! ;)

You have Scottishwee on your cruise as well from bonnie Scotland, one and a half days for WDW, -Difficullt, very difficult, MK should be one, maybe hop to another park later, and do AK early one day and hop to MGM later.

I am doing DL C for 4 nights before the return repo, with two aprks there thats more than enough. Plus I have Disneyland Paris for 5 nights next month to get us going.

I have corresponded with Scottishwee (mainly about flights), it sure is nice to know there will be other Brits on board! :)

Depending if our flight into MCO arrives at a decent time, we might go to DTD or one of the parks. On our only full day at WDW, it looks like we'll be going to DHS - DD wants to do ToT again (even though she was terrified last time :upsidedow ). I've booked tickets for MP&PP for the evening, so that's sorted. :thumbsup2 We might go to AK in the morning before heading to port since I believe DCL buses will pick up from there, too.

We'll have 5 nights in the DLH after the cruise, too. :hippie: Before having to take that loooong flight back to the UK. :sad1:

When I arrive early afternoon at WDW, I hit MK that evening for the parades and fireworks, I find less to do at DHS, Not a great lover of ToT, but like RNRC, and Movie ride. AK Expedition everest is great, rode it many times in 2006.

I am staying at DLH this time, after Grand Californian last time in 2005, should be fun! .

I am flying BA this time rather than Virgin and dare I say depart Terminal 5, so my bags can have a holiday in Milan and catch me up in Acapulco.

Back to Virgin in 2009, but even they have messed up my booking!

There are some talkative folk over on the cruise meet thread to be sure!:lmao: I can be one of them sometimes too!!!!! They are a great group and I can't wait to meet everyone.

We are at WDW for 4 nights pre cruise and at DL for 3 nights after. We fly out 3 weeks on tuesday.  Going to be a great trip.

Looks like a Brits cruise! Enjoy.

I wanted to do three resorts in one year, Paris, California and WDW, but as we arrive on 1st September and school starts the 3rd, we had no option other than to fly back the day we get to Florida so missing MK, for that day.
