I posted this on the general cruise board and did not get a response. Can anyone recommend a reliable transportation company we can use in LA and Galveston to get from airport to hotel and hotel to pier--and then the reverse? I don't want to use Disney's transportation because I want to be able to get to the port when I want to get there--within reason of my PAT, of course! Thanks.

A friend and I are considering this cruise. Looks like we're pretty sure we will do it. Both of our hubbys have work obligations that won't allow them to go, so we are taking each other.

I really know nothing about LA. We would fly in the day before since it means flying halfway across the US. How far is the port from LA? What hotels are fairly close? Thanks for your help!

I would look for a hotel that picks you up at the airport and also has free transportation to the cruise pier.

My only prior DCL cruise was a guarantee & we got a terrible cabin-right above the engines & near a stairway. Slamming door all night & engines at ungodly early hours in port days. So bad tat I've not returned to DCL in 10 years. Do I take a chance since a balcony is a good thing, and the cabin is guaranteed to be bigger?

I would say do it. I was suppose to be on WPCP and I noticed when they came out about 2 weeks before sail date that most were on deck 7 which was where my verandah cabin was that I picked. This cruise isn't as packed so far as I can see. Go for it!
