Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

Our family welcomed our Daughter, Kinsey James, into the world on 11/5/12. She was 9lbs 8oz and was 20" long. We now have to change our reservation from TBA Clements to Kinsey James Clements.

Welcome Kathy and Jeremy, and welcome Baby Kinsey!! I'll add you all to the roll call.

Kathy and Jeremy, take a look at the first post, and pm me if you'd like to add any other info, such as stateroom number, dinner seating, etc.

We are also booked on this cruise. It will be our second cruise, we sailed out of NY this summer on the Magic. Looking forward to many sea days. We are leaving the DS with Grandma, so adult only trip for us. We are from Michigan also, Grand Rapids area.

Kathy and Jeremy

Welcome Kathy and Jeremy!!! :cheer2:

Dave and I live in Williamston, between Howell and Lansing.

Congratulations! What a great way Kinsey James is starting his young life - going on a 14 day DCL cruise!!!!

On the Dec EBPC they have a group meeting in a different lounge each night for a nightcap, sounding like a pretty good idea :thumbsup2

Count us in for a few nightcaps ... if I can stay awake that late!

We will have a blast on the Wonder - so looking forward to two weeks on the ship with lots of good peoples! :goodvibes

Brenda (a/k/a Bendy)! What a small world!!! I started reading your trip report and looked at the photo of your cruise buddies and table mates - Wendy and Doreen!!!! Dave and I met them on the Magic in 2001! Unfortunately, we have not had an opportunity to cruise with them again, but we keep up with one another on Facebook!!! I think I mentioned to Wendy a while ago that she needs to go on the September 2013 Panama Canal cruise - but she's still teaching during that time frame.

Also, I love the comment about you being the travel planner and budget buster - that's me! Dave calls me his personal travel agent. I love planning and I haven't screwed up yet when it comes to all our travels, but I'm sure the first time I mess up - it will be a doozie!

Welcome! Kathy and Jeremy. Please let me know if you want to join in on the FE, Postcard exchange or wine tasting as those are the activities that I am keeping track of right now.

Glad she made it and look forward to seeing her for her first cruise!

WELCOME :wave2:

You do know that after 2 cruises you are hooked and won't be able to find enough opportunities to feed your habit. :hyper:

Congratulations, :littleangel: What a better way to start a lifelong Disney affection then on the Wonder. Her pictures will be a treasure in her older years.

First off, welcome to the new cruisers and congrats to tojam on the new arrival!! :yay:

Jan, pardon the cliche but it's really a small world isn't it? At least in the DCL world! :lmao:

Wendy and her mom were such lovely people to share dining with ... we felt so fortunate to have the chance to get to know them. They were such fun!

Sounds like we have a lot of common ground - look forward to meeting you and everyone else in person come September!! :goodvibes

Just curious ...

I was poking around the DCL site the other day and now this itinerary shows Costa Maya as a port of call instead of Cozumel and Miami for final port rather than Galveston. I haven't received any correspondence from DCL or TA about itinerary changes but doesn't it seem odd that it's changed on the site?

that is odd.

It is the itinerary for the Dec. 2012 EBPC. Maybe they havn't changed the graphic on ours on the website?

When they first posted they had the Dec 2012 graphic on the itinerary tab, after a couple discussions with the web design staff they fixed to represent our itinerary. :thumbsup2 I was originally hoping they had changed ours to match the Miami trip but they assured me it was merely a mistake :sad1:

I will try to get the Mickey Head itinerary posted here soon. :surfweb:

Here it is, I am still playing with the date to see if it looks alright.

Has anyone made plans yet for arriving for this cruise?

We are thinking about doing a few days at Disneyland before if DH has enough vacation days.

At the very least, we will fly down the day before. Has anyone left from this port before? Do you have a hotel you recommend with transportation to the port included? Or will you take Disney transportation from the airport?

Am I crazy that I'm already thinking about all this?

We have been thinking and almost have our minds made up.
We will probably arrive 4 days ahead of the cruise so that we can do right at 3 days at Disneyland (I want to go there at least once in my life!!) and there is a tour that Disney does that I want for the 4th dayl.
Our plan is to hopefully get a villa at the Grand Californian, but I have to wait for the 7 month window (February) to be able to try for a reservation.

We have planned that far. Then I will worry about the airline tickets after that!

we're trying to figure it out here as well. Kind of awkward flying into one city and then flying home from another and we are unsure about how to handle the whole Galveston airport issue. Do we fly out from Houston and use Southwest Airlines or is there another airport and do we use another carrier? A little outside my comfort zone since we are used to Port Canaveral and MCO.
