Pam's Low Carb Road (Comments Welcome)

Welcome back to February!! Just think how much THINNER you'll be when September really DOES get here! :sunny:

Hey Buddy I hope you are feeling better today!!! I just sent you 2 PMs (of course because they got too long again for 1 LOL).

With being gone over the weeken and catching up on laundry and things around the house I haven't looked at either of our journals until today. Sending you hug :hug: , try not to be too discouraged by what DD says and we are going to work together to get you (and me too) to stop this rollercoaster and get thinner and healthier!! We will succedd :hug: !!! Hopefully when TOM leaves you will get a whoosh and that will encourage you more. I think it's great that you're planning on starting exercising too. :bounce: :Pinkbounc That should definitely help!!!!

Keep sticking to plan and we can do this!!

Cheryl:wave2:

hey pam, i really hope that you are feeling better today! :sunny:

i know that this is a tough journey, but you can do it! there may be days that are harder than others, but you will get to your goal over time. it won't happen overnight, of course. you're doing a great job with your plan, just keep it up! :bounce:

WOW! This day was a whirlwind for me.

First, the kids and I got up and did a little bit of school today. Once a month we meet the homeschoolers at Pizza Hut for Book-It and this is the day. Then, we went ice skating with everyone. The kids had a total blast. After that it was time to head home to get something together for dinner later because we have swimming lessons and don't get home until 6:00. Whew!!!

It was evaluation night at swimming, and two out of the three kids moved up a level. They were really excited!

But the best part was........................I STAYED ON PROGRAM!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

I had my usual breakfast and at Pizza Hut I had the salad bar and I took 2 slices of pizza and scraped the cheese/veggies off of them. I had a cheese stick at the pool for a snack and for dinner I had ground beef with a little cheese and tomato sauce. (I made spag. for everyone)

I felt really good and in control. Isn't that the best feeling? Being in control is what it is all about. So many times I would just stuff myself with pizza (one of my favorite foods) and then want to take a nap.

So even though it was a hectic day and not stress free, I had a good day. :tongue:

Breakfast - 2 eggs, butter, Atkins muffin, more butter :D , mint tea, splenda

Carbs = 6

Lunch - lettuce, 2 slices green pepper, 2 cucumbers, bacon, 2 tbl. cheese, ranch dressing, some moz. cheese w/ sausage/pepperoni/green pepper/onion, diet pepsi

Carb = Appr. 11

Snack - cheese stick

Carb = .5

Dinner - hamburger, tomato sauce (about 1 cup), cheese (Way too much cheese today:rolleyes: )

Carbs = 12

Snack - Atkins muffin, butter

Carbs = 4

Total Carbs = 33.5

Gee. I didn't think it would be this high. Too much cheese and too much tomato sauce for the day. I'm amazed my keto stick was still dark pink. Usually if I go over 30 gm., it knocks me out. OK. Good. I'll do better tomorrow, though. :sunny:

Need to clean, clean, clean today. Going out tomorrow night with DH. Can't have the babysitter coming and have the house a mess!:o :p

I'm going to try and watch my calories and carbs today. AND DON'T GO CRAZY WITH THE CHEESE PLEASE, PAM!!! (This is why I always failed at low fat diets....they wouldn't allow REAL cheese! No diet is worth my interest if it doesn't allow cheese ;) )

So today...........................

Breakfast - 2 eggs, butter, Atkins muffin w/butter :) , mint tea, splenda
(you'd think I'd be tired of this breakfast by now but I can't tell you how much I am enjoying this. I'll go with it until I feel I need a break)

Carbs = 6

Lunch - 3 oz tuna fish, mayo, 5 green olives, 3/4 oz. cheese

Carbs = 1 (the green olives)

Snack - 1/4 cup sunflower seeds

Carbs = 3

Dinner - Need to use up the hamburger so I'll make a grilled one for dinner. Maybe 5 oz. , horseradish, brussel sprouts, butter

Carbs = 7

Total Carbs = 17
Calories according to fitday.com = 1521

:sunny:

Pam, you're doing GREAT! You've found food you like and you're working it into that hectic schedule!

Way to go at Pizza Hut - you are a very brave and committed woman!!

WooooHooooo!!!!!

I had a GREAT DAY today!

My DH and I just came from a Ken Davis concert. He is a christian comedian and boy, did we laugh! We went with eight other couples from our church. We all went to Olive Garden first, and then to the concert. What fun! And the best part......I stayed on plan!!:bounce:

I am always a little apprehensive about things like this, because I feel like I could lose control at any moment. I go into it feeling very confident and ready for battle, if need be, but then sometimes things seem to shatter. Being that I have been to OG a lot, I knew what I was going to order going in, so I think that helped. Maybe the more "successful" days I have on this "way of life" eating plan, the more confident I will be. I'm hoping so anyway.

Had lots of cleaning to do before the babysitter came, :rolleyes: so I actually didn't have time to eat lunch. I hardly ever skip a meal. I don't believe it is a good idea to do that, but I knew I was going to eat at around 5:00, and that is kind of an early dinner (especially on a Sat. night) so I didn't think I would be too bad off. I couldn't believe that I was hardly hungry all afternoon. Definitely NOT normal for me. I must say I feel pretty darn proud of myself right at this moment. But I better watch out. Usually when I start getting cocky, the next moment I'm falling flat on my face! You know that verse in the Bible right? "Pride goes before a _ _ _ _........yep........A FALL! :) Don't want that to happen.

Here's hoping the scale will reward me well!!:teeth:

Breakfast - 2 Atkins muffins, butter

Carbs = 8

Snack - 1 oz cheese

Carbs = 1

Dinner - Chicken Marsala, broccoli, salad, tea

Carbs = (kind of guessing here) 14

Later, decaf coffee with cream and splenda

Carbs = 4

Total Carbs = 27 (could be less, I don't know how much the Chic. Marsala was. There wasn't a lot of sauce on it and I only ate half of the meal and took the rest home in a box. :D )
:sunny:

Hey buddy, You are doing GREAT! I am so proud of you!! :D It looks like you are really sticking to plan even when you are out. Ya Hoo! Keep up the great work!!!

Cheryl:wave:

Wow! Just think. I won't see that date for another four years. What could happen in the next four years?

I WILL be thinner by the next leap year, that's for sure. But that is something that is within my control. Other things in my life are not totally in my control. Will I have another baby? I hope so. I pray so. Some things are better left to God. ::yes::

Feel pretty tired today. My daughter woke me up at 4:30 to get some cough medicine, and I got stirred just enough that I couldn't get back to sleep. So I took my shower and ate my breakfast around 5:30am. At 8:15 we were off to church and four of us had gotten showers this morning!! And we weren't even rushed! Let me tell you, THAT does not normally happen in this house on a Sunday morning. We are usually flying around here by the seat of our pants! :crazy: And that's when the kids get baths the night before. I must say it was nice, but I don't think I could give up my sleep like that on a regular basis.:faint:

Breakfast - 2 eggs, butter, Atkins muffin, butter, tea, splenda

Carbs = 6

Lunch - Pork loin (6 oz), brussel sprouts, butter

Carbs = 8

Dinner -

Carbs =

Total Carbs =

Ketostick is pink!:Pinkbounc

:sunny:

Pam, I hope all is going well! You've been doing great staying on plan even through restaurant meals and hectic schedules - this really is becoming a way of life for you!

I bet your concert was wonderful! We saw Mark Lowry last year and he is very funny as well. I appreciate seeing a good Christian comedian!

Step by step, Pam, day by day - you're making great progress but it's hard to see in the daily routine. Have faith and you'll get to goal. ::yes::

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Oh, Marcia and Doe,
you sound so proud of me. And I'm so sorry to dissappoint you, but I messed up Sunday night.

I had an ice cream bar and a piece of pizza.:mad: :( I'm glad I didn't go too out of control, but I wish I had stayed on plan.

But I am right back on plan. I refuse to give up. I'm not going to weigh myself until Thursday when I check in with the "No Foolin" thread. Hopefully, I didn't mess myself up too badly.

Today:

Breakfast - 2 eggs, butter, tea, splenda

Carbs = 2

Lunch - tuna fish (5oz), 2 tbl Newman's Own dressing, mozz. cheese stick (1oz)

Total Carbs = 13 WOOOOOOHOoOOOOOOOO!!!!

:sunny:

Silly Pam, here's a :hug: ! Guess what..... I'm STILL really proud of you!! ::yes:: I'm not disappointed in you at all! You're still in the game. You hit a little bump in the road - glad to see you're human like the rest of us. :crazy: Now you're back on track and in the big scheme of things, that one little bump isn't important!:D

I think you'll be just fine for weigh-in on Thursday. ::yes::

It looks like you are back on track Pam! But, where are your VEGGIES girlfriend? I need to work on that myself! I'm going to be shooting for at least one salad each day and a serving of low carb veggies. I also need to work on my water in take. How do you do with getting yourself hydrated?

Hope today is a good one for YOU!:sunny:

Hey Pam Buddy

Don't worry about Sunday night :hug: you didn't blow it nearly as badly as I did with my Girl Scout cookies last week. The most important thing is that you jumped right back on track :D !!!! It looks like you did great yesterday. So the Atkins blueberry muffins are good, I'm going to have to pick up that mix, I haven't tried that flavor yet.

Have a great day:wave:

hey pam, don't worry about sunday night. definitely just a bump in the road. you didn't go totally out of control, and that is a positive ::yes::

glad to see you got right back on track. that's the best thing to do after you "cheat". no worries, just keep doing what you're doing. good luck with weigh in on thursday, i'm sure it will go just fine :)

Jody, If I don't have a salad, sometimes it is hard for me to get the veggies in. But Sunday I had about a week's worth of veggies. I think I had 3 or more cups of brussel sprouts!! I couldn't get enough. Isn't that weird??:tongue:

Yesterday I wasn't very hungry. I think my kids' colds are starting to wear on me. I hope not.

Today started with a bang. The kids were up and had their Latin class with Daddy (thank goodness he starts them off at 8:00........I'm still getting myself together at that time :rolleyes: ). Then, we leave for swim classes that just started this session. This is the first we have done this during the day. I can tell it is going to be a bear trying to get the kids to finish their work on a Wed. afternoon. But, I must say, it was mighty nice having only three kids or so in their class. Lots of one on one work with the teacher and as a treat, the teacher takes them into the hot tub (this one could fit 20 people) for the last five minutes of class. They absolutely loved it. We go with another family who has four children and we all spend about 2 1/2 hours together on a Wed. morning. It was a lot of fun....even for me (love to chat with another homeschool mom....we must always need encouraging:chat: )

Well today I feel tired but good. I feel on top of my game. Hopefully, more and more days will feel like this.

Tonight we have dinner at church. Subs are on the menu, so I guess it's lunchmeat/cheese and I don't know what else. We shall see.

Breakfast - Atkins muffin, butter

Carbs = 4

Lunch - tuna fish (5oz), ranch dressing(2 tbl.), 2 large celery ribs, cheese

And ofcourse, water, water, water all day long...............:boat:

Carbs = 5

Dinner - 2 slices roast beef luncheon meat, 1 slice ham, 1 slice turkey, 2 slices cheese, 2 slices tomato

Carbs = 4

Snack - 1 atkins muffin, butter

Carbs = 4

Total Carbs = 17

:sunny:

Hey Pam

It looks like you had another great day! And you did so good at your church dinner :D . I am so proud of you! We can do this buddy!! Are you taking vitamins to help fight of the kids colds ;) ?

Have a good Thursday! :sunny:

Cheryl:wave2: :wave:

Hi Pam! :wave:

Sending lots of healthy vibes your way so that you don't end up with the kids' sick bugs. We're going through that at our house right now, and I'm doing everything I can to stay healthy.

Looks like you're doing a great job on your program. Keep up the good work! ::yes::

I forgot to add this in my last post on my journal re: "The Passion." You're right that by the end of the movie you don't care who you're crying in front of. When it was over, no one moved for the longest time. You could have heard a pin drop. I've never had an experience like it before in my life. I still can't get some of the scenes out of my head. Very powerful and moving!

Anyway....hope you have a wonderful day! Take those vitamins so you don't get sick, too! :wave2:

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I DID IT! I LOST ANOTHER 4 POUNDS!

I only weigh in on Thursday's now since that is the day that I report to the "no foolin around" thread. Since last Thursday I've lost 4 pounds. Now I can claim my 5 pd. clippie and focus on the next 4 pds. so I can claim my 10 pd. clippie. Yeah!
:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :tongue:

So, ofcourse, I feel great today. And my DH said he didn't even hear me snoring last night. (I'm hoping my snoring goes away totally in time)

April 1st is my first challenge. After that I think I will make my bday, April 24th, my next challenge date. The big 40, ya know. :crazy: I won't be where I wanted to be, but I will be where I want to be WHILE I'm 40!:D I WILL DO IT. I WILL DO IT.

Cheryl..............yes, I take vitamins. My DH is a distributor for Herbalife. Boy, do I have vitamins.......and minerals, and herbs, and ......well, you get the picture. I call him my drug dealer! :teeth: Thanks for checking up on me, though. You're a sweetie!! Hey, and are those cookies gone yet?? I hope so. Don't want those buggers around to tempt my buddie! :)

Angela.........wow! the movie sounds .................great?? Sounds weird to say a movie is great when it's about Jesus being crucified, doesn't it? But I think you know what I mean. DH and I WILL see it sometime soon. Anything that gets me focused on Him(Jesus) is worth doing. Always helps me get my mind off of myself.

So today.............

Breakfast - 2 eggs, butter, Atkins muffin, butter, coffee, cream

Carbs = 6

Lunch - tuna fish (5oz), 2 tbl. Newman's dressing, 2 stalks celery, 1 oz. cheese

Carbs = 6

Dinner - Subway wrap, yummmmmmmyyyyyyy! I chose to have a turkey/cheese sub in a wrap. Turkey cheese (put extra on at home), green pepper, mayo, lettuce, onion, tomato, bacon, banana peppers. Wow. I'll get that again sometime.

Carbs = 10-11

Total Carbs = 22-23

Ketostick is really pink! woohoo!

:sunny:
