What is the customary tip for brunch at Palo? I know there is a 10 dollar service charge, but what amount do you tip, if any? How do you know how much is correct?
Thanks for your help!!:smooth:

It is personal preferance. I have left nothing additional and I have left $20 additional...depending how the service was.

I have seen a couple threads/posts before that say either:

1. the additional cost of Palo ($10 per person for brunch) IS for tipping/service so no further tip is needed?!
OR
2. Many others seem to think an additional tip is warranted and appropriate and to not do so is in bad taste.

My thought is this---we typically leave 20% tip when dining out (which, having worked as a waitress MANY moons ago while sending myself through college, I feel is certainly an appreciated & acceptable percent). My math isn't the greatest, but the $20. my DH & I would be paying should cover a brunch with an equivalent cost of $50. per person or $100 for our couple. Surely the brunch on board is not valued at higher than that?! I don't want to look like the "hick" from Nebraska who doesn't know the "way things are done" so what do others feel about this? (saying this having not yet been on our first cruise!)

;)

Is it worth it to go to the brunch? What is so exciting/new/different about it?

I cruise in two weeks and I just thought the menu looked more interesting and we are traveling with two children. We would like to have our dinners together.
Anyone ever go to Palo just for dessert?

The brunch really is very good. There are many different selections plus you can order cooked to order entree's from the open air kitchen. Here are some pics from the brunch, but these are only a small sampling of what is available:

Yes, those are crab legs and big shrimp at the end of the table!

As I said, these are only some of the food offerings. When I tip extra, it is not so much as what the food would cost on land that I base the tip on, but how much we enjoyed the service and interaction of our server. Some just do their job, but some go above and beyond we tip accordingly. It is certainly not necessary to tip extra, it is a personal preference.

We were on the Magic just this month and the Palo Brunch was absolutely the best meal overall we had on the ship. Everything else was great, but nothing compares to the food and experience of Palo(brunch- we did not do dinner.) Lisa
