Palos' and dress code (yes again!)

Just booked a last minute trip for May1 - May8. My husband and I are dying to try Palo's - the problem - he does not own a suit or a jacket.

I know that the suggested attire is jacket required - but will they still let us in if he is nicely dressed?

We are planning on skipping formal night so as not to offend anyone, but really want to go to Palo's.

Will we be ok?

When we ate at Palo last October at least half of the men in the restaurant did not have jackets. Most of them were in long-sleeved, button down shirts with ties and fit right in.

As long as your hubby isn't planning to wear shorts, jeans or a t-shirt I say go and don't worry about it.

You MAY offend someone - if you don't someone else will. But that is life.

Have DH wear a nice dress shirt and tie and slacks and he will not have any trouble "fitting in" at Palo or the Formal night or the Semi-Formal night. Don't give up your spots on these evenings because of what someone else MIGHT think. Heck for formal / semi formal nights he could wear a polo shirt. After a few minutes in the restaurant on formal/semi nights you won't be noticing how everyone else is dressed.

We sat at a table where a couple of the guys (I was one and I may have been wearing sandals) were in a dress shirt and tie, another was in a tux and the last male was wearing a shirt and jacket. Did the others have a "bad time" because of how we were dressed - nope -we had a great time together. And the ships officer that dined with us that night had a great time too. He was laughing and enjoying himself as much as we were.

Don't let the fashion police make you miss your regular dinning rotations. If you are dressed nicely - you'll be fine!!
