Palo Wine List??

Off the wall question: We are looking at adding the romance package and included is a bottle of wine off of Palo's "premium" list. Anyone know where I can find a copy of this list?

My expierience is that the list is not updated very often - almost everything I've ordered from it was not available.

There are many good selections, but you'll have to chose from what is available on that ship at time.

You may be able to find a copy of the list at castawayclub.com. There are some very nice wines on the list at Palo, I had no problem with availability in December.

My point of reply was to state that there are issues with having a supply of fines wines on a ship - mainly that they cannot restock from a land based warehouse or distributor like a normal restaurant or wine shop can.

I am positive that the ships are not carrying a case of Vega Sicilica Unico even though it is on the list. During my conversations with the sommelier staff about the issues surrounding fine wine service on board, they told me they keep 1 bottle.

If you desire to have a dinner at Palo for a special occasion and get your heart set on that one bottle and it's bad or been sold - you are out of luck.

The fact that the ships constantly move is something else that is bad for fine wines, seeing that the sediment is constantly being stirred up.

They would not put a huge collection at risk, so they stock the ship with what they think they must have before the next re-provisioning.

For normal, high production wines, the odds are pretty good that the one you want will be on board.

For a 61 Cheval Blanc ( Thanks Miles ), a 45 Latour, or Kristal Rose - the odds are not as good, even if they are on the list, which according to staff, does not get updated as often as it should.
