Hi! I was SO excited to finally get a Palo reservation for DH and myself on our upcoming 3-night Wish cruise, but then realized it's because it is Pirate Night. :headache: We also were really looking forward to dressing up and seeing the new show/fireworks. Our reservation is at 8:30 so I know we will probably miss the show, but hoping to make it back on deck for the fireworks?

Has anyone had this situation before and did it work out that you could enjoy both, or should we just accept we will miss the pirate stuff? Would it be TERRIBLE if I went to dinner in my pirate outfit? I was so excited to dress up fancy but I already bought this costume. I may wear it from like 5-8 and get some pictures with the rest of the family and then change into a real dress right before our reservation?

Any suggestions on the best way to "do both" would be great! If it doesn't work out, it's ok.. I have done the pirate show and fireworks on the Dream but never have eaten at Palo so I will just be happy to be doing something new. But sad to miss out on that with my kids and the rest of our family.

According to a recent navigator for a 3-night cruise, the pirate party/show starts at 10:15 and ends at 10:45. If your dinner is at 8:30 there's a decent chance you can make it (especially if you let your server know ahead of time).

Palo does have a dress code, though it's pretty relaxed. I've never gone to Palo on pirate night so I don't know if people wear pirate outfits to dinner, but you might feel a bit out of place. (You do you, I'm only speaking from my perspective). I think your idea of wearing your costume and getting pictures ahead of time, then changing for Palo might work. If you've got a pair of pirate ears (I have the Pirates of the Caribbean Main Attraction ones I wear on pirate night), you could throw those on after dinner, so at least you have some pirate theming for the show/fireworks.

You might be slightly rushed at Palo, but I think both are totally doable. Again, just communicate with your server up front and they can help pace your meal accordingly.

Thank you! This is all really helpful. I saw on another thread that the fireworks were at 9:45 so I panicked but 10:45 is totally doable! I don't want to rush the dinner experience, but I will let the server know.

I think I would feel out of place too wearing a costume, so might just have to do a quick change. That's a great idea about the ears! I have a head scarf I was planning on wearing so I'll just wear a black dress to dinner, throw back on the headscarf and some gold hoops and I'll be back in business! pirate:

This is probably the most fun "problem" I have had to resolve in a while! :)
