Palo Dress Code Changes?

So what about he Santa suit
It's a santa suit, costume, outfit. Not a suit in the regular sense a suit, so no, it is not appropriate and should not be allowed as it does not meet the requisite dress code.
Just to humor you and explain why.
Santa's red baggy pants cannot be described as dress pants or slacks, nor jeans.
Santa wears a hat, and hats are requested to not be worn. (he could take his hat off, but that would not be in keeping with his attire that he likes to promote.)
Since santa has such a large and bushy beard, I guess it would be hard to tell if he is wearing a collared shirt.

;)

Now would you tell this guy he couldn't wear this to palo when his clothes match the rules.View attachment 167318
No one is saying they wouldn't tell someone not to wear that to Palo's since it does meet the requirements.
But not everyone thinks that is appropriate attire for the restaurant, and wish that it was not allowed now. That disney cruise lines had kept to the old policy.
You are taking all of this way way too personally. You are going to ruin your own trip to Palos with your own insecurity that others will be passing comment on your jeans, and you are aggravating yourself by wearing a Hawaiian loud shirt to wear just because you think it will P off the people that think jeans should not be allowed.
Get over it! Not everyone agrees with your opinion and that is cool, but please do not be so self defensive that you act out to prove a point to people that may not care anyways.

I'm not taking it personal. You guys started complaint about jeans, and that you feel like it will ruin your dinner. So you guys seem to be the ones that care bout the rule change and you dinning experience. You must feel like you are better with the formal clothes

For I am Santa so I guess I will buy a red suit from my local Taylor and wear it on my next cruise. You know like santa on meet the santa's
Why would you need to buy a new santa suit since you are already your towns official santa?
Is the old one worn out, or is this a new appointment?

To preserve the elegant ambiance of this restaurant, you are asked to adhere to a dress code when dining at Palo. We recommend dress pants or slacks and a collared shirt for men, and a dress, skirt or pants and a blouse for women. Jeans may also be worn if in good condition (no holes). Please no tank tops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, shorts, hats, cut-offs, torn clothing, t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics flip flops or tennis shoes. These are the recommendations. So my jeans meet the rules, and it says nothing bout formal wear. So if you look at the recommendations, people who wear formal wear don't follow the rules

Dress codes generally set the minimum acceptable. People are free to exceed the minimum requirements if they so desire.

By wearing an oxford shirt or polo, dress pants, and in addition a tie or sport coat does not violate or compromise the "no tank tops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, shorts, hats, cut-offs, torn clothing, t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics flip flops or tennis shoes." policy.

YES your jeans meet the rules! YES not everyone thinks that they are good rules!
Why are you seeking approval from people that you may never meet or those that may not care what you wear in accordance with the disney cruise lines policy so much?

Wow. This is why dcl finally said whatevah.
I'm wondering if there are some people who need someone here to say "It's OK" in order to convince someone else that they can do it?

Personally, I know the dress code now includes jeans, so I'm certain that I'll see plenty of them in there. Just not on me or my husband. This thread was more about just commenting on the change, not condemning anyone who will now proudly show up in their jeans.

Well some of you guys turned it into attacking people who wanted to wear jeans. So to late for that.

Grow up and stop acting like a big baby no one has forced you to do anything. I Don't like what you said so I will report you grow up
How is your santa suit coming along? Will your town approve your new design before you bring it from under the bridge to the ship?

Having a different opinion is not attacking. Your taste, my taste, they are obviously different. Just because I think jeans are not appropriate does not mean I am attacking you. It means as an adult, you should be able to say OK, this is what I like and it is in the rules, so we are done.

I'm not sure which post you're referring to that you perceived to be an attack against you, I am not finding one. I do, however, see a number of posts from both you and the strikingly similar @brooksdunnlj profile that clearly lash out (in the same fashion) at those who are disappointed in the dress code change. You've made your position clear. You will be wearing jeans and you're happy about the change in policy. You're entitled to that. Likewise, others are equally entitled to feel and express disappointment in the policy change. That's not an attack against you or anyone else. It's about the policy.

Have you been reading earlier posts when I got attacked for saying I was gonna wear jeans on earlier pages. Feel free to do so Jennifer 777

Ahhh.... I think today you can buy brand new jeans with holes and tears. Obviously they are in good condition seeing as though they're brand new...???
