We are taking a spring break cruise with our 2 DDs, ages 12 and 9. This will be our 2nd Disney cruise and we didn't do any specialty dining on our first cruise because A. we were overwhelmed with everything there was to do on board and B. our younger dd at the time was not super keen on being left in kids club.

Its been a few years since then and I made a Palo dinner reservation for DH and I for the final night (because I didn't want to miss a rotational or Pirate Night) - but DH is questioning if we should even bother.

Palo is wonderful: wonderful food, wonderful ambiance wonderful service and a wonderful date night. That being said, we don't like to do Palo on the last night due to feeling rushed to get out so as to pack :crazy2:. If you and your husband are ok leaving the littles in the Club/Lab for your dinner date, I would jump on it.

We are just back from a Disney Wonder cruise and we did Palo for dinner. The food was excellent, service excellent and the wine was excellent. It was well worth it and a definite highlight to the cruise.

We love Pato. So for us it is definitely worth it. But I don’t think I would do it on the last night. For us we love the servers and I always want to be there on the last night to hand out tips and thank them in person,

We could do this on our way to Palo. We have main dining and a 6pm Palo reservation.

We did Palo on our first cruise in November on the Fantasy. We absolutely loved it and thought it was well worth the extra price

I love the Palo Dinner. Adds a nice touch to end of the day. I didn't really care for the Palo Brunch, since it was more seafood base.

We loved Palo and to me it was one of the highlights of my cruise. It’s a romantic night with wonderful food.

My preference is brunch. We did dinner on our first DCL cruise and I wasn't impressed. Now, the menu has changed since then, and it's a bit better (IMO), but I still prefer brunch. My husband prefers the dinner, so we switch off which we do from cruise to cruise.

The anti pasta and the bread are pretty good at palo dinner. The rest of your meal just average.

You should definitely do Palo, but not on the last night. On our last cruise one of our kids got sick so we weren't able to attend with no opportunity to reschedule

I think it comes down to looking at the menu and seeing if it sounds good. My husband and I are not foodies and really like the menus in the main dining room so we don’t do Palo. Plus we are cheap and don’t want to pay extra :) It just isn’t worth the expense for us, but if you like a more fine dining experience then it could be worth it.

Agreed. I think the dinner is much better than the brunch. I didn't think the brunch lived up to the hype.

We have gone on 9 trips so far, the wife and I agree the best thing to do, if we decide to do something extra, is BRUNCH @palo's. forget dinner and anything at Remy's too expense and not worth the price - IMHO

Palo on the Magic is probably my favorite of all the ships. We always request Sylvester to be our server and he always takes great care of us. He has been on the Magic since its first sailing I believe.

I have always wondered if the reason why people seem to like brunch so much is because there is so much food. I mean it is nice and we are doing it on our next cruise but honestly it just seems like ... brunch to me. Now the dover sole at dinner on the other hand is something I dream about.

We may have had bad luck with Palo. We did brunch on our first cruise. The service was pretty bad (worse than the MDR). They said they were closing the kitchen, so they rushed us to order something before we had time to even consider our options. The food from the buffet part was pretty good, but not really worth the upcharge. It might be because there is just so much darn food on board, but the food didn't really stand out to me. Disney seems to have a problem with the food being too bland, and that seemed to be true to in Palo. I would love to try it again to see if it is better the next time. I want to try Remy too.

We really enjoyed our Palo dinner, but I'm not sure we would repeat it on future cruises. We would like to try brunch sometime. We loved the kid-free, quiet dining experience. Sure our DS can enjoy Kids Club while we dine in the MDR at a kid-free table, but getting every family to do that on the same night...hasn't happened yet. I'm kidding of course. The food is Palo was delicious, service fantastic...but we say the same thing about the MDR...and so we enjoyed it, but won't likely repeat in the near future.

We always do Palo Brunch and Dinner. I love the brunch and the variety of food. Dinner is very special. The food is delicious, the service is outstanding. It is an intimate, relaxing dinner.

Ok I’ll go against the tide here. Is it worth it? Yes, but the food on our trip was good compared to the everyday food offering. It was worth it to have a grown up dinner, without the mad rush of the regular dining room. The food is good, but I didn’t think so much more that I would go for it specifically.
