We have a family group (my 7 kids plus spouses plus 6 grandkids) going on a 7day Eastern in November. We would like to do Palo brunch together (all the adults) and have 4 who would need to stay in Flounders. Question #1 - can Palo handle a group of 16 for brunch? We would like to do it on either the first or second day at sea. Don't want to wait until the third day at sea because we don't want to miss the lunch seafood buffet. Looking at recent Navigators, they show "family time" from 9am to 11 am at Flounders on those first two days. Am I correct in assuming those are "open house" times and you can't leave young ones there? Has anyone else experienced this problem and how did you get to Palo brunch with toddlers?

Yes, Palo has a private room that can accommodate up to about 20. I'm not sure if they use it for brunch or not, though, you will have to check once onboard. You may also want to call DCL now and ask for the group dining number to see if they will let you book it in advance.

The family time at Flounder's definitely means that you cannot drop off kids then, it is just time to be spent together playing with the toys. You would want a later brunch time if some parents plan to drop off kids there. :)

They definiately use the private room for brunch. We did have a party of 16 last FEB and they seated us in the private room. It was a wonderful dining experience. We had Vlado from Croatia...what a doll!!!

I believe you can request the private room for big groups when you make your Palo ressie on the first day. I would get there as early as you can.
