Anyone gotten a PAL Mickey? How much do they cost? Do you think it was worth it?

From the Disney Website:

* The entertainment continues outside of the Walt Disney World® Resort and even back home, where he will share his jokes and play three interactive games."

We got a Pal Mickey. I think it was about $70. The kids, 5, 8, & 13 were all excited about it. Played with it in the room. On the first day they argued about who got to hold Mickey first. BUT . . . once we got Mickey to the park, they quickly lost interest. No one really wanted to carry Mickey for very long. A few days later we couldn't find Mickey, and the saddest part of all is that none of us could remember when we'd last seen him. I think that our Pal Mickey felt so neglected that he ran away. I hope he found a nicer family that would play with him and laugh at his jokes!

We bought one for our DD2, and she LOVES it! It was cool when he would alert us to things going on in the park. After we got home, she still plays with it since it sings songs, etc.

Ours was around $70.

I was thinking about getting one on our next trip, but I'm wondering if it will be worth it. The trip will just be my DH (24) and me (23). No kids yet.

I can't say anything from experience, but here is my opinion based on the posts that I have seen on these boards. If you have kids, they'll love it. BUT I wouldn't take one to the park unless I had a stroller with a pocket to keep it in. Face it, noone wants to be tied down holding a plush all day at the park.......isn't your purse, camera, etc. enough hassle?

We bought it last year for DS (then 21 months old).

He loved it! For a day...Then he got bored with it & it sat in the bottom of the stroller all week.

We got home & 1 day after the trip Mickey broke. Of course then DS was hysterical because his Mickey no longer talked.

I am willing to buy it again in March if DS shows interest in it (even if it does end up in the bottom of the stroller again...LOL!). But I would not buy one for myself.

It's funny you mention that, since I think my DH and I had more fun listening to his spiels about what was going on in the park then my DD did!

We would hear him giggle, and one of us would race to squeeze his hand!
I saw a lot of people without kids with a Pal Mickey. He comes with a belt clip and a lanyard.

$13.99 is a MUCH more reasonable price than $70! Do you remember what the link was?
Thanks!

Do you think you would get one if it was just you and DH? I thought it would be cool to hear trivia and stuff. This next trip is for our 1st anniversary and probably our last one for a while.

That was the same for us, also I couldn’t hear him with the noise in the park, I am sure his tips would have been great.. mind you part of me was waiting for us to walk into a shop and for Pal Mickey to recommend the kids charge toys to the room as a great way to show your parents how grown up you got LOL ;)

My DH and I have one (we are 24 and 26 with no kids). He's cute! DH wears PalMickey using the belt clip and I'm in charge or wearing the pin lanyard. :) He's fun. We spent a day doing whatever Mickey told us.. 'I hear there is a short wait at Buzz Lightyear!'. His jokes are very corny/puny, but that's part of the fun. I can see it getting old after a while though.

I'm not sure. We're relatively new to Disneymania, but if I saw it I might pick it up. I learned a lot of trivia about the parks, especially in the AK.

I just ordered one today off of Ebay for $30 (with shipping) for my 4 year old niece. We're going next month and I thought it would be a cute thing for her to bring with her this time out. Plus that makes one less gift I gotta buy her for Christmas. LOL

Nope don't remember those specifics, but you can join mousesavers (free) and do a search for Pal Mickey! It was through an outlet, and you had to phone, but it went very easily!!

If you have an Unofficial Guide, be sure to read the section regarding Pal Mickey. Hysterical :)
