What do you know about pal mickey? I read somewhere you can rent or buy them. How do they work? How much are they to buy? What has been your experience with them? Are they worth the $?

I did hear that you could rent them before but not real sure you still can. I didn't see anywhere that did that. I bought one for my DD (5). It was $85 because I had it sent to our room before arrival I believe they are around $75 give or take a buck. My DH and I rather enjoyed him. DD would carry him to the bus and then hand him off to one of us. She did occasionally play w/ him but not as much as I thought. If it was just for my DD I would say it was a total waste of money but for my DH and I we had a ball w/ him. I loved the little extra magic he puts into your day. There is some kind of chip in him and around the parks that makes him know where he is and when. we were walking out of Splash Mnt. and he commented on how scared he was on the drop and how wet we got. It was wonderful to have him. I wouldn't suggest him to anyone under 8 or so. And if you don't want to carry him throughout the day I would find a different souvie. Hope this helps.

Bought ours for $65 in August. DM and I absolute love him! He makes the parks even more magical! :goodvibes I had also heard that you could rent them, but apparantly they have discontinued that. :confused3

Just bought the old one for 13.99 and the new one for 29.99 from the Disney discount place. They shipped them to me for a total of $54.00.

Not sure what the phone number was, but it was a thread through the Budget Board.

Try calling Disney's Character Warehouse in Destin, Fl. Their # is 850-650-0633

I had them shipped to me and I'm searching for clothes that will fit. I'm just going to sneak them into the room before my boys get there.

Got two last week of the older version (the one that looks like mickey, not the tux one) for $29.99 TOTAL, including shipping!!! :cool1: :Pinkbounc

We borrowed one from a friend for our last trip. I thought it was cute but after a few hours it started to wear thin when he was going off all the time.

Keep in mind we were 2 adults and DD (1 year). Kids might find it entertaining. For us we had enough going on without him Vibrating in my back-pack. Finally I took out his batteries.

There are some older ones on ebay for around $20. It's just DH and I so we don't care if he isn't NEW!! I put him on my wish list for Santa!!

We bought one last month while we were there and for our 4 yr old it was great! He probably retold each of Mickey's jokes to us 100x each, but at least it kept him occupied. I also enjoyed his fun facts. I didn't really think he was annoying and we didn't have to carry him because you would've had to pry him out of ds's hands. He really kept ds entertained in line. I'd recommend one. :earsboy:

Last year when we went to WDW we had the prince and princess package. This gave both DD's $50 Disney Dollars and that is what we spent it on. They each got a Pal Mickey and we covered the extra cost. DD8 loved hers. Not only does he vibrate madly in the parks when he has info for you he also tells corny jokes. DW and I ended up carrying DD4's most of the time and we actually "fought" over who got to play with him. He does provide some great info like where certain characters are and when parades are about to start. We noticed that he goes particularly crazy in AK. He was shaking constantly giving out info about the different animals and telling his corn ball jokes. Since DD4 lives with her mother, DW and I are considering getting our own tuxedo wearing Pal Mickey on our upcoming trip. DD9's Mickey has already been outfitted with fresh batteries and is waiting patiently in the suitcase. I think he's starting to get a little homesick. Only 22 more days til we are back in WDW.
