I've been doing a lot of research on disney for my trip in april and I've seen quite a bit about this Pal Mickey thing and I was wondering if anyone can give me information about it and is it worth it to get it. Thanks

I bought one and thought it was great fun :) Pal Mickey's got lots of little trivia tips about the parks and he even reminds you about the parade at MK! The only thing I didn't like about him was that he was sometimes too quiet... it would have been nice if he had volume control but at least you can have him repeat what he said last. If you buy a Pal Mickey, you should also get one of those bottle straps they sell at the park... the clip that he comes with isn't very secure.

I believe that you can rent him for $8 a day ... the $8 can be applied to your purchase price if you decide to buy him.

HTH :p

My DS8 rented Pal Mickey on our 3rd day in the parks. We ended up renting him a total of 3 days, $24, we LOVED him. Actually, my son loved him. He gets a bit annoying if you are an adult, but he was great entertainment for my son. Even when he isn't "activated" in the parks you can still squeeze his belly and he will tell you a joke. He plays games too. I really think he was our best $ spent. He was a great addition. I don't really see the value in spending $60 to keep him, but we did love him while he was with us! You can, as a previous poster stated, rent him, then keep him if you wish.

I think it is a really cool idea but $60 is too much for it. I would have bought one for myself if it was more like $25 - $35.

We visited the mouse end of Jan and I bought one. Great fun listening to the trivia about the park and such. My kids loved the corny jokes (as did I). The reminders about show times and parades was pretty neat too. I'm wondering if he'll work in Disneyland Paris this year. I thought Pal Mickey was worth the 60.00 considering we try to go to wdw every year. He'll be attached to me each time!!
I clipped him on my fanny pack and he stayed put, no prob. Yes he is quiet but he vibrates and repeats everything if you give his hand a squeeze.

Worth the $60.00 we paid for him.Great way to help pass the time while in que for attractions.Plus a great conversation starter while at bus stops etc.Plus when you bring him home the corny joke's he tell's and trivia games you can play with him is like having a little WDW magic with you. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :wave2:

I love my Pal Mickey too. I thought he was well worth the $60.00. We play with him all the time now that we are home, and he will be making the trip with us in June. He helped pass time while we waited in lines.

I will agree that a volume control would be nice. Most of the time I had him pressed to my ear while in the park. Made quite a few folks do a double take. {Why is that old lady hugging her Mickey doll to her face?}

Poohbeck,

Pal Mickey is a stuffed "doll" that has a sensor embedded inside. He is activated by sensors planted through out the parks and he provides infomation and tells jokes. He can inform you if there is a short line at a certain attraction and he will remind you about 1/2 hr before a parade is about to start.

Mickey is activated through an antenna in his nose so you need to keep him facing outward. He will shake and giggle when he has a message for you. You press his hand and he will give you the info. or share a joke. ( Very CORNY!!) He will repeat the message incase you missed it or if others in your party want to hear him. He isn't very loud, and I found I had to hold him rather close to my ear to hear him. He has an on/off switch so you can turn him off during a show.

Once you get him home and there are no sensors to activate him there are 3 games he can play. We really enjoyed him on our trip and the kids still play with him all the time. He will work on sudsequent trips and rumor has it they are placing more sensors in and around the parks and resorts.

Hope this answers some of your questions. Please ask me if you need additional info.

Hi there
I don't want to be the only nay sayer regarding Pal Mickey but here it goes. We were actually given 2 Pal Mickeys due to having to change rooms and resorts 3 times in a 24 hour period over thankgiving last year. (Not our fault, leaks, sprinklers flooding the room etc weird) Anyway, I had been looking at them and also decided $60 was too much for the first roll out.But free from the resort ok lets see what it did. At first it was cute and my 4 year old DD loved it and had to hear everything. But with the crowds and heat it did not take long for her to not be interested in holding a warm furry thing up to her ear to hear (very quiet not once did we not have to hold it very close to our ears to hear). He was also very inconsistent on what and when he said it. Staying quiet for 20-30 minutes (yes we were walking and his nose was out) and then talking in the middle of Carousel of progress. PM quickly became another thing to haul around the parks on our person so he would not walk away with anyone else. The clip to hold in on your belt/purse etc. is awful. Falls off at nothing. At home DD does not even care for him. I would rent if I were you and see if the interest in him continues past 4 hours.(off and on)..My DH now cringes when he sees me pack it for the futility of carrying it around in case DD decids to want it.

Now let me say I am a crazy Disney maniac. We live in Fl with Fla Res Seasonal Passes and have been to DW over 150 times since it was opened and i was 2. I am not in general one to dislike anything Disney so I was very dissapointed in this product. Anyone else tired of carrying PM around?

We love our Pal Mickeys! The hardest part was for my DD(6) to remember not to stop walking when she was listening to him!! Well worth the $60 we spent on one for each of the girlies!

We are planning on getting Pal Mickey. Is he only available in the parks, or can we find him in the resort shops? Better yet, can I order him before we go? What size batteries does he use & how many? I've heard we should take extras. :D

Thanks for the info.
