Pal Mickey

My dd, now 10, has always been allowed to make one 'big' choice of WDW gift during our trips. Other than that, she gets something for less than $5 a day. On our trip last August, her choice was Pal Mickey. I really wasn't sure if that was a wise choice, but it was up to her. Well...she really enjoyed Pal Mickey for the rest of the trip. He can get annoying with his jokes but so can my dh!!! We will be bringing him back with us next month. Evidently, he can be used each visit. We'll see how it works out. I say go ahead and spend the money. It's kinda spooky when he knows just where you are and what is happening though.

No children involved, so keep that in mind. I found Pal Mickey to be more trouble than he's worth, especially since he needs to be kept dry (try that during the summer rainstorms). I found him to be awkward to clip on, and cumbersome. I needed to hold him to my ear (or very near) to hear him in the parks.

He doesn't always synchronize properly and can give you irrelevant information, or info for a park when you are no longer there. (Like the time he told me the MK parade was due to start in 15 min. I was back in the villa at WL and had been there for at least an hour).

I'd not buy one and was more than happy to return him after my one day, four park test. (Used the one day free offer for DVC members).

DD (5) like it enough. I think it was worth it for her.

I thought he was cool to have around. Yes, sometimes you have to hold him up to your ear to hear him, and once in awhile he would get confused, but he does provide lots of interesting trivia, and tells lots of corny jokes.

I had no issues with clipping him on to my hip-pack or belt.

My then 4-year old son loved him too.

I didn't really find that he gave any real useful information. For example, by the time he would tell us a parade was getting close to starting, we were either already waiting for it or had decided to skip it.

I just liked him more for the jokes and trivia.

My daughter and I bought Pal Mickey when we were there in May and she had a blast with him. She loved everything that he said about the tower of terror right before and after we rode it. She still plays with it even now and we are going to take him back with us when we leave for our Dec trip. I think he was worth it!princess:

I was thinking of buying one but now and leaning more towards renting one. Can anyone tell me how much they are to rent ane the condition of them when you rent them. Oh and where do you rent them. Thanks, Gina
